Enjoy your new home. H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 682Jul 11, 2011 9:59 am Happy to read you're nearly there building is frustrating and can drive you to tears, I managed to cry privately then went back with double the strength with a pinch of anger take that! Good luck H Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 683Jul 12, 2011 9:19 am Thanx Sue and Deb....I have cried in the last two weeks...the stress of thinkin we could be homeless with two little kids got to me....my sister who is currently having radiation for BC has said we can rent her unit in same town and she will move to her daughters nearby....not a great option....and what do we do with all our furniture.....After working yesterday Mick spent 8 hours helping the bloke level our floors....when I brought dinner around for them the guy showed me how our entrance varied 17mm.....now thats even way beyond Henleys 5 mm tolerance...It is makin me angry to think we are payin half for the repair job.....but there are more important struggles atm.....my mum is havin cancer removed from her lip in thursday, so i am gettin alot of persepective...Im not even sure if I can visit cos of this bloody house... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 684Jul 12, 2011 9:32 am So sorry you've got all that going on in your family H you won't be homeless and you can store your furniture in a shed or someone's garage maybe. I didn't have a third of your worries but our house was just finished the week we had to move out of the rental. Take a deep breath, have a good cry, have a wine and get a bit angry. Anger gives you more strength than sadness Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 685Jul 12, 2011 9:58 am Thinking of you, H. It will all work out in the end....but I do know how you feel. My stress levels were astronomical during the build, coupled with daily life dramas and having to share a very small space with 6 people. There is light at the end of the building tunnel. I don't think you should be paying for Henley's repair work, either, especially if it falls outside their tolerances. That, to me, is unfair. Chin up, and have some chocolate... I sooo remember Dee....doesnt that seem like a lfetime ago......it wouldve been one xmas u remember.... Thanks Flaggie for the offer...with ur fine taste I think u should be my stylist... We had lots of dramas today...cant name them all but the council sending my rates notices for new block to the new house was a doozy...cos I live in a small town I got a text from a neighbour saying go to the post office there is a pile of mail addressed to your new home there.....never good news....so I open the stack to find rates notices, overdue, then credit company, great......stupid council...then they tried to charge me interest......I cant believe the idioots im dealing with this week.... HH sends me paperwork this arvo for bank for handover tomorrow, but bank valuer is saying house is incomplete, they wont sign cheque......so I cry, again, saying I dont want to be homeless and the bank pulls finger out and is sending valuer out tomorrow.... So wish me luck whilst I try to convince valuer to sign my 96% complete house over....8.30 am ....Thanks for the support today guys... Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 691Jul 12, 2011 7:11 pm good luck with the bank, I can't believe all that you are going through, it must be so hard for you to cope with everything. Life is stressful enough without HH, stuffing you around and taking your money, I would fight this, after you settle in, it's just not fair. I hope everything works out for you and your family, I will be thinking of you all. Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 693Jul 12, 2011 9:06 pm OMG H you just cant win a trick can you !!! I think that these volume builders rely on us new home owners having to move into our houses ASAP and not being able to hold out for all the stuff ups to be fixed like your floor and I have to say it p1sses me off. Good luck with the bank I hope they come to the party, and as for being homeless I wouldnt worry about that I think it will work out one way or another. I have decided to stress less and potty mouth more its more fun this way anyway hope you can give this a try well maybe not the potty mouth bit but at least try the stress less part Cheers Janet Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 694Jul 12, 2011 9:18 pm I've just caught up. Been missing in action for a few months. Sooooo glad you are nearly in. Sorry to hear about all the troubles both personal and building. Glad you got the slab looked at (our bamboo floorboards creak, so just as well they are looking at your slab) Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 695Jul 12, 2011 9:32 pm handmick ... Re: the paperwork going to the build...we learned about that during our 1st build-so have always put up a letterbox early on eversince-because council employees are not always hired because they are intelligent! Thanks VT U might b in b4 me lol Re: H and Mick's Lexington Q1......Hand it Over!!! 698Jul 13, 2011 7:16 am Hi Handmick... I agree with Dee.. Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35326 Ha all, I am now about half way (maybe a bit more) through my build with Carlisle Homes - double-storey knockdown/rebuild project.
