Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our new house in the country... 21May 27, 2008 2:57 pm Thanks Dy & Mike, it's obviously a different style of home to what most of you are building, although your home Mike has got a bit of a rustic feel from the photo's.
We were able to face our home north & even though the outdoor living area is at the front of the home it doesn't matter because privacy isn't an issue. Paula, I'm pretty set on the China White splashback but then I see photo's like the kitchen in your new home & think - " that looks nice, perhaps I should do something like that".......... Everything looks fantastic. What an amazing space you have. We should all be so lucky. You must be thrilled at this stage. Keep the updates coming! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our new house in the country... 30Jun 04, 2008 11:40 am Jo K,
That is one great laundry!!! Two baskets for dirty clothes?? Your feature tiles are very classy!! Can you post a pic of the smartrobe system in place? I'd be interested to see it. Paula Re: Our new house in the country... 31Jun 04, 2008 3:54 pm Quote: What an amazing space you have. Thanks Joles, we have heaps of space inside & out - have always lived in small homes, so I keep looking at all the space wondering what we are going to do with it all! Quote: Saw your colours on the previous page, the stipple seal will look great (I'm still undecided though!) and the feature tiles look great up too! Thanks Donuts, we're really happy with how all the colours are coming together - it is so hard looking at the samples wondering how it is all going to come out. Quote: That is one great laundry!!! Two baskets for dirty clothes?? Paula, it's huge , I never imagined that the two draws would be so big, when planning I was thinking, 1 basket for whites & 1 for colours, but I think I should of just had the one big drawer (which is the full height up to the bench) cut into 2. If these baskets ever fill up I'll spend a week washing!! With 3 kids I wash most days anyway. Not to worry, hard to picture these things sometimes when working it all out. Quote: Can you post a pic of the smartrobe system in place? I'd be interested to see it. I'll try and get a close up for you. We got them through Hume doors there's a choice of many different doors & then the tracks for them to run on. Jo Re: Our new house in the country... 32Jul 12, 2008 11:30 am Here is a photo of our kitchen at the moment.....
http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/jok-2007/kitchen-1.jpg I'm hoping it will all be in place by the end of weekend. There is a baulkhead going in above overheads. Cupboards are Laminex in Moleskin & benchtops are QQ Pebble Cove. Also have Laminex Peruvian Clay around island bench and for kickboards which still have to be put on. Then the big decision..........splashback!! Here is powder room vanity: http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd299/jok-2007/100_0388.jpg Bit hard to see floor tiles in this photo, but wishing they were a bit darker. Still happy with how bathrooms are looking. We tiled to the ceiling in main bathroom & ensuite & looks great. I'll hopefully have more photo's Monday of kitchen..... Hoping to be in house in around 6 weeks Re: Our new house in the country... 33Jul 12, 2008 12:35 pm Looks great Jo K - I love all your selections! Well done!
Can't wait to see your splashback colour and other selections come to life You have done a great job My karma ran over your dogma Re: Our new house in the country... 35Jul 12, 2008 12:59 pm Thanks Bel & Simone,
Quote: Can't wait to see your splashback colour and other selections come to life I'll be calling on all you guys to help me choose it! Stay tuned to Michelle's Forum over the next week when I'll post a photo of kitchen with all the doors back in place! Quote: Bathroom looks beautiful - is that the stipple seal on bathroom cupboards? Yes it is - are you still looking using it? Benchtop is Laminex Natural Quartz. Really happy with vanities & laundry. I think stipple seal looks stunning with white as well. Tiles are looking darker in the photo than what they really are - I wish they looked like the photo actually..... Re: Our new house in the country... 36Jul 12, 2008 1:18 pm Still not sure Jo, but I'm not too worried - it's either that or Stipple Cocoa and I think they are both nice so hopefully can't go wrong! ? Will wait till I get asked to make decision and see what I feel like on the day probably!
I was thinking the photo was a bit darker than the stipple seal I've seen in real life. Still good though. Can you go back when the light is better? You might see it differently. Re: Our new house in the country... 38Jul 12, 2008 4:33 pm Nice house Jo Mike has done a great job putting it together and you have done a great job with your selections It's looking great and how wonderful for your kids to have all those acres to explore!! I'd be getting myself a bike and going out with the kids too! Re: Our new house in the country... 39Jul 12, 2008 6:46 pm gotta love a sandstone house in the country, looks amazing and am going green as we speak...lol, the windspray looks brilliant aganst the sandstone and i think the timber look roller doors will look great (if thats the way you end up going).
. o O (wishes he had 5 acres....stupid city blocks) cheers, Re: Our new house in the country... 40Jul 13, 2008 11:06 pm Thanks everyone!
Quote: I'd be getting myself a bike and going out with the kids too! I grew up only a few hundred metres away H2B & spent plenty of time on the farm motorbike, so I'm sure they'll end up with one - just not for quite a few years yet Yes 5inmytribe 5 acres will be great, although now that we are nearly ready to move in, a huge area to lawn/garden is looking scary! (not that we'll lawn the whole 5 acres, but still quite a large area) I'm thinking about Dulux Toffee Fingers for our splashback..... a bit darker than the peruvian clay that is around our island bench & picks up some of the specks in our benchtop. Another sample pot to get tomorrow..... of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23764 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23884 Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 16004 |
