Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 23, 2010 12:19 pm Hi, We are buildign our home in the HUnter Valley NSW. The SLAB is currently poured and we are giving the builder our final Colour choices. We are using a local builder who is very easy to deal with and has told us pretty much anything is possible. We decided on our colour choices a while back and am now having second throught. Just wondering what people think. Roof and Gutters- Ironstone Eaves and Fascia - Evening Haze Windows - White Birch Bricks - Haberfield PGH Garage Door - Panel lift/ Either the B&D wooden look or Evening Haze Front door to match garage door depending on which we choose What do people think of this. Has anyone out there built anything similar. Below is our plan http://picasaweb.google.com/James.Wither/Home#5463150794982198162 Any help would be appreciated Re: James and Leahs New Home final Colour choices. 2Apr 23, 2010 8:38 pm Hi Dangerjim, I can't be of any help with the colours but I'm really impressed with your floorplan. It's simple, streamlined and includes heaps of good features. Hope all goes well for you Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: James and Leahs New Home final Colour choices. 4Apr 25, 2010 7:49 am Hi your color choices sound good should all work in together nicely. I like the wooden look B&D doors Budde Design 3D Architecural Visualizations, Architectural Rendering, Artist Impressions, 2D & 3D floor plans http://www.buddedesign.com nathan@buddedesign.com Re: James and Leahs New Home final Colour choices. 5Apr 25, 2010 12:56 pm Great floorplan - I like that the internal access from the garage is into the kitchen area and that the kitchen has it's 'own' corner. We have used a few of the colours you've selected. We have the white birch windows, ironstone fascia, guttering and downpipes and evening haze as one colour on our facade. I'm really happy with the white birch windows - not stark white, but not creamy/yellow either! And the ironstone is great! Our facade hasn't been finished yet - so haven't seen evening haze yet!! We chose Canterbury as our brick - so it's quite red, but also has burnt bluey bits - which is highlighted by the ironstone. here is a picture of the White Birch windows - sorry this is the best one I've got (although not good!!): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and here is a pic of the Ironstone Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: James and Leahs New Home final Colour choices. 6Apr 27, 2010 11:52 am Cheers for the feedback. I think Everything should be fine. I called the builder today and its all locked in now so we will be going with what was first posted. Still undecided on Garage door though. The frames arrived on Friday and the Slab is down so its all happening!! Re: James and Leahs New Home final Colour choices. 7May 28, 2010 1:45 pm Hey Jim, What did you choose in the end? We have almost identical colours, except we have monument for roof and woodland grey in there somewhere as well. We ended up going with Evening haze for the garage over the wodden look as that is what our colour consultant advised.. We fell in love with the haberfield bricks when we saw it on some houses... nasty upgrade price though.. I was hoping your house would be finished so I could check out how it looks We are waiting for our site to be scraped. So if we end up beating you to the finish line I will no doubt be posting some pics!! Hi andrew78m, We ended up going with Ironstone roof, PGH Haberfield (best decision we made), evening haze fascia and the Windows are White birch. We would have gone evening haze windows but our window supplier didnt have the colour. Click on the link below for some pictures. I am not sure how to attach images, but clink on the link for a few pictures. We have progressed a bit since the photos. Also it shoudlnt be much of an upgrade. I think our builder charged us an extra 10c per brick which isnt much in the long run. We are not sure of garage door yet most likely evening haze or ironstone though. http://picasaweb.google.com.au/James.Wither/Home# Hey guys, what’s everyone opinion on James Hardie linea direct fix to frame? Would this be the most common method and anybody ever had any problems down the track? 0 5151 2 5942 regardless, your contract stipulates a payments schedule and SOPA doesn't give provision to that scenario.
