We are getting there...still don't know our PCI but will have to ask as we need to get out of our current rental lease early, so will need to start looking for tenants soon! I have ordered some of the fans because I found the ones I want on ebay cheaper but not enough of them, so will order the rest at the store price, still have to put order in on the blinds. I think I have decided on white eco blinds (50mm slats) for all the windows and then white verticals for the sliding doors and one super wide but short window in the kids play area. Oh...and I haven't even got to planning out the landscaping yet. So much to do!! Looking great. Love the floor plan too.. it looks SO BIG for 30sqs!! You're so lucky you have such a wide block, ours is only 13m wide so our floor plan choice was hugely narrowed. Can't wait to see some more inside happy snaps! You're so lucky you have such a wide block, ours is only 13m wide so our floor plan choice was hugely narrowed. Can't wait to see some more inside happy snaps! I heart building ;o) Lis Thanks Lis! It is big, but not too big. I feel like it's a really good use of space but not over the top. The original house plan and the one on display is much bigger called Doulton Q1 where we got the smaller version the Q3. Most of the double story houses were so big but the smaller ones didn't have everything we wanted like all the bedrooms upstairs and an activity room upstairs for the kids. I am all about the pictures so plenty more to come!! The painting is coming along and they said that they would be finished this weekend. Good thing I brought up the outdoor cladding because they painted it surfmist like everything else but It as meant to be a sort of brown-grey colour. She pulled out her copy of the contract and sure enough they didn't order that colour and had missed it. She said they would be fixing it today. It really looks so much more like a home with some colour on the walls. Some fittings, a front door and some flooring....we are getting there. Our surfmist water tank was there yesterday...ooolala! I wanted a surfmist water tank but she said they don't do that colour!! Then our next door neighbour got one and I was hugely mad seeing that colour is available in a watertank when I got told it wasn't! I love my Dune coloured watertank anyways, but would have preferred surfmist cos it would have matched my white windows better. LOL - here's me ranting about a watertank... Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Garage Door and Painting 190Sep 03, 2010 3:33 pm Hi Michelle, It is great to see your photos - we too have picked Martini for our internal colour. Looks really good - are you happy with it?? We are happy with our build so far. We have been on top of them about a couple of things - the wrong colour gutters were delivered (which we caught before they put them on) and they bagged and painted the house one colour - we have a feature colour on the front projection that they have missed and will have to re-do. Worries me a bit when the house is locked up and we aren't able to stalk it anymore. Other than that, our admin lady is great and the quality and speed of the build has been fantastic. The major changes we made to the Doulton -(Q1) is that we have reversed the upstairs - main room to the back. We were lucky that friends of ours have built this design so we were able to check it out (as there are no displays like this). We added quite alot of storage (linen cupboards to the upstairs), cupboards to downstairs living (room near front door as this will be my husbands study), under stairs storage, drawers to bathroom vanities, cupboards to laundry etc. We are happy with it so far - have you got hand-over date yet?? Rachel Ps - I have been overpaid the last few weeks - pity they will take it all back off me soon Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Garage Door and Painting 191Sep 04, 2010 12:09 pm MM, it looks fabulous. Coming along really well. You must be getting very excited ...great to hear that DH has experienced what it's like looking after littlies. he probably has more appreciation now Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Garage Door and Painting 192Sep 08, 2010 7:36 pm Just a quick update--things are really moving along and I am very surprised that we haven't been given a PCI date yet so I emailed them today enquiring as much. It's all looking fantabulous!!! -Painting has been finished, except for staining of the front door and re-painting the cladding the correct colour -Toilets and shower heads are in, only from what I can see through the window into the upper story -The electrician has been, all the lights with their little hats are in and switches-we will install our lighting and fans after handover. -The water tank has been hooked up -The oven is in the garage I have been locked out so I am not sure if the bath tubs are in. The tile splashback in the ensuite hadn't been completed. The thing I am hanging out for the most is the glass splashback. When we picked it, I thought I loved it. I found a sample online and I don't remember it looking anything like the sample, so I am a little scared! There just isn't that much left to do so fingers crossed we'll get handover this month! I wanted a surfmist water tank but she said they don't do that colour!! [quote/] I am not sure if these "colour" ladies are much help at all! I am finding I am wishing I would have followed my heart instead of going along with the colour lady said that my ideas wouldn't work together and I should do this. I listened because I figured she was the expert and I don't know very much about what is going to look good. Anywho, glad you ended up liking your water tank just as well. RachelR It is great to see your photos - we too have picked Martini for our internal colour. Looks really good - are you happy with it?? I think you should share some pics of your house too!! I like that you swapped your bedroom to the back of the house. We will have to keep the blinds drawn all the time as there are 6 windows in our main and ensuite looking right onto the road! The thing I forgot to do until it was too late (too expensive to admin fees) was to put drawers in our bathrooms! Ooops! Rowena MM, it looks fabulous. Coming along really well. You must be getting very excited ...great to hear that DH has experienced what it's like looking after littlies. he probably has more appreciation now Thanks Row! Yes, dh usually has full days with the kids if I work on the weekends, it's sooo good for them to understand how hard it is to keep things clean with kids that basically follow you and pull out whatever it is you just picked up. flagstaffIV Congratulations MM!!! When you see everything is nearly finished and wanting a PCI date. Yep, I remember that well. I felt the last 4 weeks of the build dragged on forever. It was so painstakingly sloooooow. Well I hope you hear very soon when your expected PCI date is. Any new pics to share with us? Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Update 8/9 199Sep 16, 2010 1:03 pm We are having a walk through with SS today! Our official PCI is on Tuesday 21/9 but SS has painters and plasters booked for tomorrow and Monday so we are going to identify those issues today. If there are no major problems left after Tuesday we should also be having handover! I haven't been to the house since I last posted pics, so here's hoping that we got all the right appliances, toilets, baths, ect and it's a smooth inspection without a lot of problems!! Whoot whoot, it's going to be all mine next week!
