Painting next?? They better change it... I really don't like the look of that door... Thanks, yes painters are meant to start this week!! YAY!! I can't believe we are really getting close now. And I don't really like the door either, we have been pretty laid back this whole build so they had better change it!! Baahahaha... gosh just re-reading what I wrote... I sound like such a b*&ch.. lol! ANYWAY!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh for painting!! Gosh! You should be in by end of Sept then?? Your build is definitely kicking my builds ar$e! Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Tiling has begun 152Aug 23, 2010 4:51 pm YAY!! Just got an email, they are going to replace our front door even though it was in the contract with the door supplied, she said as a gesture of goodwill. So glad we didn't have to dispute it! Not much to update, still tiling, looks like they were there today and did about 6 tiles as the laundry splashback and then left, not sure why they didn't finish as only a hob and splashback in the ensuite left to go. Also the back garage door put on, I guess this is when the snails pace starts when the only progress in a day is a door and six tiles. I shouldn't go everyday and be surprised at the end of the week, but I can't help myself. "Gesture of goodwill" Don't you love how they make you feel like they've done you the favour when they made the mistake in the first place?!? At least you got what you wanted anyway The last part of the build is so slow it's almost painful but it's getting closer Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Approved correct door! Yay! 157Aug 23, 2010 11:06 pm Yay!! Have you got a PCI date yet MM? Re: Mumma's House~Doulton Q3~Approved correct door! Yay! 158Aug 24, 2010 7:31 pm DeeMaree-It's so nice that you can start in your garden now while they are building. I have so much to learn and do with the landscape after handover, like learn how not to kill a plant...I am really good at that. Pebbles- I know what you mean about how they turn it all around. However I am still greatful that they are changing the door, they definately didn't have to. Guess you really need to go through your contract with a fine tooth comb. Hope nothing else comes up because I didn't! n&n-I was going to wait until all the tiles were completed before I posted more pictures but since I may not get back in for awhile, those darned locks, I'll post what I have now. Barb-Thanks! It's not nearly as fancy as your door, but I am happy to get the one I wanted! Flaggie-First off, LOL I didn't think you were being b!tchy...a little blunt maybe but that's ok. I didn't like that other door either. As far as PCI, I have no idea. I can't imagine it being past the first or second week of October, hopefully in September! Things are coming along, but there is still a lot to do! We were hoping to get it for school holidays so we could do work on everything then (dh is a teacher) but I think that may be being too optimistic. It is so plain and I wish I would have had a better plan going into tile selection. I chose to have the dark tiles on the bath hub in the contract but on seeing it I have asked the tiler to use the same tile Still Grey from the wall on the hub as well. After seeing so many bathrooms on this forum I am dissapointed in my selections. I am super happy with everything else though. My obsessive complusive need to stalk my house through the windows has shown me my new stone bench tops in the kitchen today! They look great! Painters gear was in the living room but I couldn't tell what had been painted. The tilers should be back to finish tomorrow. I am going to TRY to stay away until Saturday and hopefully see some painted walls. YAY! Would be great if you guys got in by September. You are travelling very well atm so I'm sure it's a possibility I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve the idea of a wallpaper feature Great idea! I thin feature tile you have in the bathroom is lovely, simple and effective. I think your ensuite looks great and like how you've used the floor tile as the feature in the shower area. I do understand how you feel about it not being exactly perfect. I know it will look great though and just means lots of pretty accessories to go in there!!
