Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Plaster Up! 63Aug 09, 2010 9:56 am Whoops, should have popped in here on Saturday when I noticed that there are some bricks layed, the garage wall if I remember correctly (not enought sleep this weekend gone). Plaster looks great, makes a big difference. Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Plaster looks great, makes a big difference. Thanks for letting us know...I'm really pleased to know something is happening. You're far more reliable than our SS Richo At least the brickies have started, hopefully that means they will now be on site until bricks are finished (fingers crossed)... Aaron & Erin How cute is your love heart! Customer service at PD sounds quite similar to H... still chasing our handover guy to show him scratches on our alfresco doors. He's been dodging our calls for over a week now... The heart is pretty cute, then again I'm probably biased I've been reading about you post handover 'issues' and that must be incredibly frustrating for you both and also not really good enough. You and Aaron were so 'on top' of that build and they're still getting away with things...unbelieveable... Rowena looking good sorry to hear about the poor customer service. bring on the bricks!!! Very much looking forward to bricks Rowena...At least we have something to look forward to this weekend (even though it's only Monday ) flagstaffIV Looks great Cal... it's sucks that they are giving you the run around with the bricking! I think you are definitely correct about the brickies shortage, there are quite afew PD houses that have been plastered and not bricked yet in my stage. When will they be putting in your kitchen?? Hey Flaggie...The last we heard, the kitchen was going in last week, but then we couldn't get anyone to confirm that and couldn't get in contact with our SS so I'm not sure if it's in as yet, but I'm sure when we go up this weekend it will have been delivered. Can't wait to continue seeing yours go up, we're at such a similar stage but at the rate you're moving your handover date will be coming up before you can blink I reckon We have a house in Doreen. I honestly cannot believe that lack of communication your SS & CSA has given. Very disappointing I have to admit we've been very lucky, our CSA changed just before we went to construction. She emails us every Friday even if nothing has happened with the house and she is very quick to answer my emails. Our previous CSA was shocking... barely answered emails, was always hard to get her on the phone. I think they hired her (like most PD staff) coz she was good looking... Our SS hasn't really contacted us much, but I would have to say that he has definitely made sure everything is going according to plan. I would hate to rock the boat, but if they aren't providing you with the information you've requested then maybe you need to go higher up to get what you want. I wonder how they manage to win awards every year... Awww thank you We have been very lucky. We are only 10 weeks in and are already at lock up. Our SS is gunning to get us in in September! I really hope things start picking up at your place Cal Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Cabinetry 66Aug 22, 2010 5:22 pm Why hello there people, time for a quick update... We arrived at the house yesterday and were somewhat disappointed as we drove down the road to see no further progress on our bricks at all. So much for brick layers going to be on site first thing last Monday The weather didn't prohibit laying last week, so I'm not sure what the excuse will be this time. Might email our CSC on Monday just to annoy her seeing as she's already emailed us last week to tell us bricks would be finished Friday So as we pulled up we were not really expecting much as we knew everything had been locked up and our only way in via the garage door that doesn't close properly had been blocked by our skirting boards. Still we walked around the back and what do we find? An open door...yay... Pretty happy with how things are progressing inside...got to see the actual kitchen, bathroom & laundry cabinetry up close and our kitchen ceaserstone benchtops have been installed (but is under some ply to protect them). The doors have been installed on door ways (funny that) and also the wardrobe doors and the sliding doors in the pantry, ensuite and master WIR. Skirting boards have also started to be installed in some rooms. So, still no bricks but inside is coming along nicely So here are the pics...they're taken with a wide angle lense, so some of them may look 'odd'... Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Cabinetry 69Aug 23, 2010 10:33 am Progress looks good, I couldn't believe that there was still no further movement on your bricks last week! And still haven't managed to run into you guys up there yet ... Thanks Richo, your place is looking great (and I'm not just saying that because I have a serious case of Brick envy ). I'm sure by the end of the week you will be well and truly ahead of us with doors hung AND bircks complete...yay... Hopefully we will cross paths soon, will be good to catch up... We haven't heard anything from PD personally yet, but our online system says they have sent a letter to claim rain delay days so will be interesting to see which days they're going to claim. I'm hoping they're not ** and claim days that were raining but we know that they couldn't actually get brickies to work at our site We have a house in Doreen. Apparently our brickie walked off the job so they have found a replacement but the new brickie is not happy with the work that has been done (only two thirds of the garage side wall anyway) so it is coming down (or has already, I'm not sure about the specifics as yet). So our build is now 4 weeks behind schedule. No big deal as we are at mum and dad's, but I'm glad we always say 'as long as we're in before christmas' as it may just be accurate at this rate (maybe an slight exaggeration ) No further progress will occur internally until the bricks are complete according to the SS, so that's a bit disheartening as the fact that the inside was making progress each week was really the only thing that was keeping me excited at this stage Well, that's all for now folks... Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Delays 74Aug 27, 2010 6:56 am you might have some progress now. good luck Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Delays 75Sep 01, 2010 9:15 pm flagstaffIV :8 OMG... well at least the new brickie was honest... Looking forward to pics of your bricks Cal! Yeah, definitely pleased with the fact that it's now all out in the open and we know why the bricks had come to a stand still. Also, it's a bonus that all bricks will be done by the same people so hopefully we'll get a good consistent job, which at the end of the day is all we're after. kiwi you might have some progress now. good luck Hey Kiwi, we are certainly hopeful of some progress but apart from Monday and Tuesday (and that's assuming the brickies were even there) I don't think the rest of the week will be 'brick laying weather' so we might not see anything more when we head up on Sunday ______ Not much of an update, just my usual frustration with PD about lack of communication from our CSC. Last Monday there was a note on 24/7 that we had been sent a letter about rain delays, it's now Wednesday night the following week and no letter has arrived. I went searching on the 24/7 website the other night and finally found the letter. I'm not annoyed they're claiming rain delays, after the winter we've had, they can claim the whole 10 days no problems. I'm just annoyed that the letter was listed as 'sent' and it simply hasn't been done. But, to be honest, if my biggest whinge throughout this build continues to be 'communication' or lack there of, then I'll cop that Hopefully photo's will follow the post on the weekend. Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Delays 76Sep 01, 2010 11:07 pm I'm totally feeling the pain with you Cal... damn CSA's.... Well I really hope this weather calms down!!! Looking forwards to some bricking pics *fingers crossed* for you Re: Cal & Matt's PD Kensington in Doreen - Delays 77Sep 02, 2010 11:14 am That really is a bugger about your brickies, but now all you need is 3 or 4 fine days in a row and things will look a lot different! Fingers crossed for you, and I'll let you know if I spot any movement before the weekend. We have a walk through with our SS next Monday morning (also trying to organise a driveway quote to try and lock someone in)... SS has stated he expected bricks to be done by the end of the week and painting will start end of next week. So I really hope everything just follows on nicely from here on in. I feel like we had an incredibly wet winter that held us back a bit so really hoping we catch a bit of a break for the down hill ride Here are two pics from the weekend. As you can see WE HAVE BRICKS We are really really happy with the job thus far and can't wait to see it all done (and eventually clean)... This is by far the sunniest day we've been out to the block to take photo's so hopefully you can start to see the real colour of our roof tiles. We are really happy with the 'Mocha Choc' colour and it matches so well with our guttering, can't wait to see it with the Jasper garage door in due course. Hoping other Northern Melbourne suburbs people can help me out a little. We're starting to look at getting driveway quotes. We want a plain coloured (top coloured as opposed to coloured through) driveway and just some spray on pattern for the existing alfresco slab. Anyone got any recommendations for me? (happy to have you just pm them if you don't want to do a big shout out). We were recommended a guy from Felistopher who we're trying to get a quote from but like most tradies it's tough to get them to return messages or answer their phone in general Any help would be greatly appreciated We have a house in Doreen.
