The green is a lot brighter than it looked on the sample card and in the sample pot of colour. We thought it was going to be a bit earthier. It's growing on me. The good thing about moroka is you can change it! As for the "foxtail" to the rest of the house, what do you think? I really like it and am so happy we went ahead with it. Now hopefully DH can rest easy about the brickwork Re: Building with Rawson Homes- moroka pics p19 366Dec 18, 2010 4:01 pm The moroka looks lovely, your house looks great. I am really happy with how the facade is looking An eventful day planned for today. The aircon will be installed; fencing commenced; and we have an inspection with the SS. We should know when handover will be following our meeting with him I just hope there has been some progress in relation to fixing the bits and pieces identified in the last inspection. I will be a little dirty if this is not the case We arranged our insurance on Friday evening and need to forward the documentation to the lender. Following our inspection today, we will organise the final payment to be made to the builder. I told DH that while I don't expect that we will move in straight away (with Christmas only days away), I do expect that our Christmas tree makes an appearance in the front lounge room. A wine or two sitting by our tree (on the floor cause there will be in furniture) is definitely in order Re: Building with Rawson Homes- moroka pics p19 371Dec 20, 2010 7:59 am Good luck with everything. I hope you get your wine by the Christmas Tree. How exciting, you're so close to the end of the build now. I'm very happy for you. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Building with Rawson Homes- moroka pics p19 373Dec 20, 2010 3:22 pm Thanks so much Carlswil and brb I just love how supportive H1 is! I couldn't have gotten through the build without this support network of fellow builders Re: Building with Rawson Homes- Handover wednesday @ 9am! 374Dec 20, 2010 4:24 pm So very excited! Handover is booked in for Wednesday at 9am Our inspection this morning was pretty uneventful. Other than some paint touch ups, they really hadn't progressed any further in getting things organised for handover. The SS won't budge on the skirting board issue. He got a little shirty about it when I told him that I was still unhappy with them in the entryway and hallway. He assures me that they will look good once cleaned, I told him that I don't believe it has to do with being dirty, but rather with the quality of the finish. However I wasn't prepared to delay handover to fight that one out, so I guess we will have to get busy with the paint brushes ourselves! SS says everything will be done in time for handover with the possible exception of the ensuite niche tiles. They need to be redone, and may have to wait until the new year. I got in touch with the lender to notify them of the handover date and authorised them to release the final payment. Dear lord I hope that there are no delays in the funds being received by the builder. It can take up to 48 hours, but should hopefully happen in 24 instead! Money delays would be disasterous! The fencing started bright and early this morning and weather permitting should be finished by Thursday. Contacted the blind company and they are booked in to install the window coverings at 4pm on Wednesday. Headed into Good Guys and booked in to have our fridge and dishwasher delivered on Thursday. While we were there we splurged on a new kettle, toaster and iron. As we have lived with the inlaws for 2 years, we have no food/cleaning products. My dear MIL has been putting aside non perishables in a box for us to take with us. We went and bought a whole heap of cleaning products in preparation for the move, and will do a big grocery shop later during the week. The bank balance is looking slim! Re: Building with Rawson Homes- handover Wednesday @ 9am!! 375Dec 20, 2010 7:50 pm Congrats HSH... a long journey but surely it is going to be fantastic 'living in a brand new home' and even better the fact that you will be in before Xmas!!!! great news and this has put a smile on my dial knowing that you will get your xmas wish come true Project History Deposit - 20/4/2010 Land Settled - 20/8/2010 Council - 30/9/2010 Slab - 17/11/2010 Bricks - 28/01/2011 Roof - 5/02/2011 Gyprock - 4/03/2011 Re: Building with Rawson Homes- handover Wednesday @ 9am!! 376Dec 21, 2010 8:47 am Congrats on handover on wednesday. That's fantastic news, just in time for xmas. That was nice of MIL to buy you non perishable stuff. I started buying a few cleaning products here and there while the house was being built, but still needed to go out and buy more last week. Enjoy your exciting week, and I hope it is not too exhausting for you. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Building with Rawson Homes- handover Wednesday @ 9am!! 378Dec 21, 2010 9:06 pm Thanks Q, Carlswil and brb I am bursting! EXCITED EXCITED EXCITED Today we had a little heart start. The SS contacted us, seemed a bit frantic and was saying that the money hadn't been received for the final payment and that the handover would have to be cancelled Luckily with some negotiation they were willing to accept a letter from the lender proving that the payment had been made. So handover can still go ahead. PHEW! This week has been totally exhausting!! Plus, I don't think I've spent so much money in all my life Today we bought a Weber BBQ. It looks awesome and I know we will get a lot of use out of it. It will be plumbed into our natural gas in time for the new year, which is lucky as our friends are begging us to host a NYE party. It may just be a good plan I tried to arrange our bin service (it may happen before Christmas, it may not). I also tried to do some research for a home phone and internet provider. Another waste of time! I called three service providers, all of which were hopeless to deal with over the phone On the up side- we got the swipe card for access to our estate's swimming pool and tennis court. It looks very cool and I am sure I will be going for lots of dips in the pool As we only live around the corner from our new house and we have access to FIL's trailer and BIL's truck, we haven't actually hired a truck or worked out exactly when we intend to move in. I will be working, but thankfully I don't start until 1pm for the next two days, so I will be able to get some things done. But ultimately it's up to DH to get cracking. I have told him not to stress and that I will understand if we don't move in until after Christmas. All of our relatives and friends are busy with work and Christmas preparations, and obviously DH can't do the entire move on his own. So I guess we will just wait and see how things pan out. Just got back from drinks with my new next door neighbours, who are just lovely. I have had too much wine and not enough sleep the past few days, so I guess I should be off to bed I will be sure to update you all regarding our handover very soon Re: Building with Rawson Homes- handover Wednesday @ 9am!! 379Dec 21, 2010 9:10 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ for tomorrow, you must be soo excited!!!!! Between work, Christmas and moving in to the house, it's going to be an exhausting week This I know for sure- we will be putting up our Christmas tree tonight, popping a bottle of champagne and sleeping at our house from tonight. There may not be any furniture or whitegoods, but damn it we will make sure we get our bed there Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2451 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21?
