Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 19, 2010 1:26 pm Hi all, Our slab is being poured today!! Just wondering how long before they will start framing..... weather forecast for the week is mid 20's all week so am hoping it won't take long to set. I don't know ANYTHING about concrete though so not sure whether the weather plays any part in it at all So, how long did it take after your slab was poured before they started frames??? Cheers Michelle Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: How long between slab being poured to commencement offra 2Apr 19, 2010 2:20 pm If you are with a volume builder you may find that you will have part/all of your frame by the end of the week. A house out the back of mine had their slab poured on a Saturday and frame started lasted Thursday. Another one had their slab poured late last week and the framers are there now and all the wall frames appear to be up. Both are being built by Burbank. Re: How long between slab being poured to commencement offra 3Apr 19, 2010 2:47 pm We had our slab on a Friday and frame work started the following Friday - did rain in between that though. Do you have any timber on site yet? Once its there it goes up really quickly - ours took about 4 days Re: How long between slab being poured to commencement offra 4Apr 19, 2010 2:55 pm Thanks for your replies, Am hoping it will be by the end of the week as my parents are visiting so would be exciting to show them something more than a slab. DH told me not to get too excited though because the slab can take a long time to do what it needs to do (cure?)..... pfffft- what would he know though!
