Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14281Jan 29, 2017 10:11 pm Thanks Grace33. Did you choose from the Ceasarstone range or Beechwood just showed you the stones that they have? What colour of stone did you get? We will have a grey wall in the entire house so I'm leaning towards white cabinetry and perhaps a light stone (Ceasarstone Seafoam or London Grey or Frosty Carinna) Any ideas? buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14282Jan 29, 2017 10:19 pm I went on the broucher beechwood gave us and i went on the ceasarstone website and ordered some samples. I ended up picking Ocean foam but I think its going to be too cream. I only picked it because it was in the cheaper range. To upgrade to the next level 'Snow' was $1650 more than ocean foam. So i stuck with it. I wish i changed it now. If i do now its another $1000. Get some samples they will be helpful. I didn't know that there was a "range" ... we have a few choices that we're stuck and undecided so hopefully with the samples, it will get us a better decision making. Thanks for your info Grace33, appreciate it buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14284Jan 29, 2017 11:16 pm tapasr_Lexia4 Just a rather stupid question here... we paid to have stone benchtop in the kitchen, so my question is do we have both the benchtop next to the stove as well as the island benchtop as stone or did we just paid for the island. Also, is Beechwood getting their stone benchtop from Ceasarstone? Did you guys visit Beaumont to see the sample stone or you picked during your colour selection? I have change colour several times now so dreading the day we'll ready have to choose buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14287Jan 30, 2017 7:53 am The Caesarstone website lists the standard colours - most of these should be included. We went to the Caesarstone showroom in Alexandria to pick the colour. I think it's worth doing this, because the samples are quite small. The other option to get an idea of pricing is the Sydney Benchtops website (Google it). You'll get a sense of what the standard colours are and how much more expensive the non-standard colours are. Some of them (e.g. Calacutta) are a lot more expensive. We didnt ask Beechwood but the pool builder said they have dealt with beechwood before and the answer is no. This was on the central coast so not sure if its the same for you. I would ask anyway. We are now going to wait until handover. Thanks Grace33, we're up on Lake Macquarie so guess that would be the same for us the sadly, though that might be their position on this I will maybe put the question to them on the basis of this being a deciding factor of the builder we go with, see if they will show any flexibility. Thanks for letting me know your experience so I know what to expect! Unless it's an insurance thing they can't have people walking through their building site. We are considering a small pool but would have access issues after the build which would be more costly... If it's done before beechwood do site survey or contours and it's fully completed it shouldn't be an issue but will delay the build. In the Shoalhaven they advised us that they wouldn't take liability to structures etc within 3mt from the building line. We tried to get a deck done at the same time as the build and it all came down to beechwood WHS and insurance about other non approved contractors on site. If it's fully completed prior I wouldn't see it being an issue as its classified as current works on the block. We are considering a small pool but would have access issues after the build which would be more costly... I know here in the illawarra there is a BH that had a pool installed prior to the build. It was all fenced (?temporary)and everything before build started. In saying that this house has had a lot of delays as their slab was poured the day before ours and is still under construction now. Doubt its got anything to do with the pool though.
