You can still get a quote for stuff right up until you sign the contract, just call or email and they just do a variation to tender. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14784Apr 19, 2017 5:35 pm Yeah, I know but they have been quite vague with the kitchen stuff. Said I would deal with all that at the kitchen appointment. And said I could go to the kitchen place at anytime to get an idea of costs and things. I am getting colonial glass doors quoted for the above bench cupboards will work my way up to the farm sink. Think Mr is already having a heart attack about the kitchen. Think Mr is already having a heart attack about the kitchen. wow that's a bit lazy of them . nice, we have some LED glass doors in our current kitchen and they look fantastic, we just have standard cupboards in the new house, upgraded to stone benchtop, big oven and ducted rangehood and then had to draw the line somewhere, a money tree really would be nice. Are you getting all the above cupboards with the glass? if that's too expensive for you than one idea is to just have some cupboards done that's what we have now and it looks really effective, makes it more of a feature. Just an idea - maybe then you can get your sink . Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14786Apr 19, 2017 5:50 pm Yeah that's the plan we are getting all of them quote and if it's too high we will just get a few done. So far we have 40mm standard stone Pot draws Deleted microwave underbench Deleted waterfalls to be replaced with paneling We would like the cupboard door profiles changed and the glass doors above counter tops and farm sink. Oh and an under bench bin draw Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14787Apr 19, 2017 5:55 pm Which office are you building with? Nice, you must have a good size block then. Awesome Nowra sounds like one of the better places to build through specially for tile selection . We are building on an acre, however we have a building envelope that just fits the house. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14798Apr 20, 2017 6:40 pm Tom2016 KDRB... its still on going.. Appears that the construction manager has taken the task on. he advised yesterday that they may stop all payments to the concrete contractor till its sorted. He advised that they have an engineer and a concreter attending tomorrow at 9-930 to start to fix it. when we spoke with the construction manager he wasn't impressed at all its taken 6 weeks + to fix and is now delaying work further.. the manager has been very helpful in the last few days getting it sorted. I don't think I have posted any pictures of how wrong it is so attached a few pictures of the issues Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the inside of the footing to left of screen not wide enough to support the weight of 470mm brick piers and the footing is 500mm out from the wall.. pink line to the right is excess.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ when we got plans done we spent 2 months placing the house on the block so to allow access down this side of the house to access the water so we can put boats and jet skis in. it got to the point that we even set flags up and drove around to ensure we could still maintain a vehicle width so we had access to water. as you can see in this picture the storm water pipe is a good mt + off the line of the house and right in the middle of the access point because the footing comes out to the pipe well away from where it should be. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ this is the back section of the house the footing is 500mm to 700mm higher than it should be. It was meant to be at ground level and is well above ground level. having the footing 500mm to 700mm higher than ground level creates drama when we go to put the deck on out the back and we will lose the under storage under the deck which is not what we wanted. All in all its been an issue for a while. Brother inlaw works at the kitchen joint where our kitchen is being made and he advised that our kitchen has been in production for the last week with delivery set for the 20th of this month which isn't going to happen as they unable to progress till the footing is dealt with then they still have to do roof, gutters, electrical rough in gyprock before they can get the kitchen in. its looking like by the time it will take to fix delaying the build process for 2 months... Todd the construction manager wasn't to impressed its taken that long to get fixed however has assured it will be sorted ASAP. the poor construction supervisor isn't impressed as he is unable to proceed with building any further until its sorted... and the contract brick company (might I add are the best brickies I have seen in our area in a long time.. massive attention taken to detail to ensure that everything looks fantastic even to the point of cutting extremely small slithers of bricks instead of them building mortar bed up and the grout lines are great nil defects its a huge relief, bricks not cracked to fit like most do. they cut to shape etc.) now have to come back once the footing is done to finish off the brick piers on the footing... the concreter said its a difficult fix to get the height right which I don't see how it could be... they have a full contour plan with them and can take levels from numerous spots.. if they can get the slab heights right a footing height shouldn't be to hard at all. sooo all in all sorry for the long post but that's were we at hopefully its sorted or started tomorrow and if nothing happens by start of next week we will escalate it further however after the calls with the construction manager I'm confident it will be sorted tomorrow.... but on a positive note....... bricks finished today hopefully will get to upload some pictures this arvo.. So yesterday we had another site meeting with the owner of beechwood local office and the SS and the engineer. Looks like after 11 weeks we are now moving forward. Had a heap of scaffolding installed today to hold the roof up so tomorrow they can bring a machine in and cut the footing out. Engineers have re visited the pier plan and have re designed concrete being re poured Monday. Then the brickie should be back later in the week then we can move full steam ahead... all going to plan.. be interesting to see if 9 weeks of delays will push it past handover date. Fingers crossed it's smooth sailing from here Who is building with Beechwood 14799Apr 20, 2017 7:54 pm Good to hear there will be some movement happening Tom2016 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110592 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
