What do you make of this? I've messaged BW but do we have the right to call the next door builder? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I would be calling the building. BW will tell you it's not their problem as they haven't done the work. If you jump onto your local councils DA tracking and search the address you will be able to see the builders details and with a quick google search hopefully you can get someone to talk to. I wouldn't be happy either as you could bet your bottom dollar they wouldn't fix it unless you spoke to them about it. Hopefully you get it resolved l. We found contractors of our neighbours builder using our electricity one day. We contacted the builder and their SS was not impressed and spoke to them the very next day. Thanks buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14483Feb 26, 2017 11:37 am braddy_ We just got a water bill... $820... wtf? $820? What did you do fill up a swimming pool? That could not be right. Call your provider and ask fit an explanation buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14484Feb 26, 2017 11:44 am braddy_ We just got a water bill... $820... wtf? It now includes sewer as well but that seems excessive maybe it was leaking. we got ours the other week for around $450 and no water was even used. I was thinking it might have been for the connection fee. If your sick of waiting for beechwood just fill out the form from your local council it can be accessed online but there is a small fee. I told her i understand that, but the highest bill we have ever had was less then $400, $820 is not a reasonable bill to put a frame up. So peeved off. Just a thought.. have you looked at the meter to see if it's ticking over when not in use? Maybe they broke a pipe whilst doing the knock down part and it's leaking underground. Or a neighbor has been filling their pool while you not there. We at frame stage and we are lucky if they have used 60lt of water. Seems like a massive amount. I hope that you can come to some sort of agreement. We've been paying CCC for a water service along with our rates for the past 4 years we've owned our vacant block so I've said if there are any fees or issues with connecting water I'll be losing it. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14491Feb 28, 2017 10:39 am 15th of March is our PCI and we are so excited. It's been a long road, partly us, partly the bank, partly BH and the council. We've already noticed two issues with paint and tiling. Anything specific I should look out for during the inspection? Thankfully the concrete supervisor is sorting out the issues even though we have moved into Construction phase. Were do we start. One of the roof trusses have snapped and was attempted repair not good enough. Frames not bolted to the slab. Few other minor issues. Strip footing to hold the extended roof line didn't line up with the roof so it needs to be extended. Steel posts are not made long enough so they need to change something as they don't reach. Without Trevor I honestly don't know what would happen or where we would be with this build. I wish they would just assign him to the whole job. The grand terrazza is 7180x4230. Looks great now but our outdoor table will take up a lot of room and make it seem much smaller I'm sure. Yes it is gemini silver!!! So far, it looks great. Message me if you prefer to talk out of main forum. Looking for some info. Hi Tom2016, Yes we did as we were concerned with something in our framework. We spoke to Beechwood and they said withholding payment would stop them working. I spoke to my SS and he said pay the payment because roof was next and he'll fix up the frame before plaster. We took his word and they made the adjustments. Our SS has been very reliable but minimal contact. If you need something fixed immediately, call them and let them know it needs to be fixed and say you won't pay until it's complete. You have about a week to 10 days after the payment is overdue before they stop work. Your payment doesn't confirm that you are happy with the work though so don't stress about that.
