Don’t accept anything the salesperson says as real unless it’s written into the contract. Once you have signed it and they have their commission and are out of the picture. The contract will define the relationship with Beechwood, particularly if there are problems. Make sure you understand everything in the contract, including the ‘standard’ clauses as they are written to favour the builder. Get an experienced construction lawyer to check and explain the contract. What happens if there is defective work and delays (almost certainly)? Is there a quality assurance process in place? Private inspections? Etc Also, check out productreview.com, don’t even bother reading the many fake or incentivised 5 star reviews, look for the balanced or negative ones which are much more likely to be real. in addition to this forum these will give you an idea of how the builder behaves so you can develop your own plan to actively monitor and manage them. don’t expect to just make the progress payments then move into your dream home 40 weeks later that’s not the reality in the current unregulated building market. Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
