Ignore them. Council are going to break up for Christmas soon anyway. Doubt you will find anyone that can be bothered chasing you up for a fine.

Ours didn't require it, otherwise there would be a whole lot of houses that are uninsured because as soon as you get the keys, Beechwood no-longer cover your property. I think this part was the most frustrating part of the build. No-one will give a proper answer and the same people say different things. We got what we required in writing to allow us to move in and get the last parts of the build done, being the driveway and some grass out the front. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14104Dec 15, 2016 4:59 pm nataliea This is the condition in our DA they are referring to. As I say, every new house that has been built in our estate has this condition, still people are moved in, have council bins (which you need at least an IOC to get) with no landscaping at front and no fence at the front. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking at the way that's worded the PCI is following the conditions. Sounds like it will need to be done prior. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14105Dec 15, 2016 6:01 pm Just spoke to my wife nataliea and she said you don't have to ring the council for the bins, just go online and order them there ( https://epathway.lakemac.councilsonline ... cence.aspx ). As for the occupation certificate, BuildCert sent us the form we need to fill out once we have completed the driveway and landscaping. As long as it's completed within the first 3 months from keys handover, we're fine. Since theyve done piering and slab, there's a big pile sitting at the back and front of the house. Our house is nearly ready. Or do we have to get it removed?, our tender has a fixed cost of $1100 for site soil management. We had to remove our excess ourselves . It said in our contract it was our responsibility. Unfortunately it cost quite a bit as we had heaps to get rid of try posting on Facebook free soil... people will often come collect with a trailer if it's free! especially if they have a lot of landscaping or fill required I rang BW about it and they said it's in our tender under site cost that they will take care of it. They can enforce the DA and fine us though. Anyway, I had some tables due to be delivered today, no where to put them in our current house, so they are going in the new place lol. My partner is going to council today to make a complaint though. It comes down to them not enforcing the DA conditions for other properties and us being singled out becuase our certifier is playing hardball. Not sure if it will get us anywhere but thought it was worth a shot. Long story short they must not place conditions above the normal as well as disadvantageous to developer by unrealistic conditions If you have the ability to prove that others have not done the same they are required under the state planning act to review that condition. What ever they do get it in writing for the PCI Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14114Dec 16, 2016 11:40 am Tom2016 Nataliea under state planning legislation there is a clause on development conditions that local councils are required to follow. Waiting now for the bloke who looks after the area we built in to get back to us (as it has changed from the original bloke). The guy at council said we may be able to claim financial hardship (because we literally have to pay a full morgage plus rent...no possible for us). Do you have a reference to this clause? They have so many issues & they didn't notice things we pointed out. Bricks not cleaned properly & in places not at all, their corness in the lounge room on one wall has a bunch of bends in it, the downpipes are the worst paint job I've ever seen. Last week they had their tiles done & the 2 niches in their ensuite has feature tiles in them & they are the wrong colour... turns out the tile place got 2 numbers around the wrong way on the order form. They are now being redone in the new year. As soon as we got home hubby went over to the painters & told them we had just seen another Beechwood home & we will not be excepting any crappy paint job on the downpipes. I hated living on site with our build until today. Update on my build... painters here this week & they got shreds ripped off them from our SS & the boss of the SS's because they didn't cover our kitchen completely up & half of our cupboards have over spray on them!
