The ones they gave us standard were plastic white crap. Annoyed that someone was credited only $402 for the theatre room extension. When we opted to add that to our tender we were charged $1100. I don't think that there should be such big discrepancies between the prices that the builder quote one client to another. I wish that builders had a governing body to oversee that customers were not taken advantage of this way. Sorry I had to have that rant Paige Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2745Aug 16, 2013 5:19 pm I totally agree.....if not for this forum clients wouldn't know and that's so unfair. When you look at the difference between the cost of the verd 4 and verd 4 jazz it's $3450......this alone was confusing when they're charging over $5000 to apply it to other versions. And I think the brick pier is between $2000 and$3000 to have added individually let alone the $1100 for the theatre extension.......that credit back is crap and should be questioned. I'm pretty sure the floor wastes are plastic as standard. $30 for each chrome one is huge too....you can pick them up for $12 on ebay.....I did read somewhere through this forum you could supply them but it was a long way back. I will be finding out. We've got our first app't this Sunday to find out the big news about our site costs etc, if I remember I'll ask then. You do get the feeling different people get different information though ! And yes, it would be heaps easier to have chrome ones put in during tiling. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2746Aug 16, 2013 7:59 pm @ Paige and fingerscrossed....I agree with you. The price differences are really frustrating. Not having the knowledge of what is available is massively frustrating! Personally, I don't see how hard it is for BW to give the client a little booklet, showing each room and what can be upgraded, what credit back you will receive, what you can do after PCI...etc etc...Can't be that hard, surely! They have been doing this for years and years! Wiz Built @ Brooks Reach Built the Verdelho Guest with Beechwood Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2747Aug 16, 2013 8:09 pm LOOK!!! Very disappointing as we had chosen a nice level block, but weren't expecting this! We had the same problem Gramy unlucky hey! Apparently it will be great for our vegie patch![/qu Actually, the previous owners had a stack of good looking banana trees on the land! No wonder they grew so well! 1 good thing was we received credits for some piers and charged for the new ones so not QUITE as bad as we thought. There goes the money for the driveway, but we will deal with that later! Gramy on the Central Coast Verdelho 5 with a twist! Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2751Aug 17, 2013 9:39 pm Hey all, just handed my exterior colours into beechwood today I'm building the vedhelho jazz with saville 3 facade in brooks reach lot 7014 Hobbs street (registration hopefully september/october) Any hints or tips would be appreciated. First time building. Let me know if you want to know anything specific. I have found that once we were handed over to construction work has gone really quickly. Cannot fault the progress of our build so far! Are you able to post your plans (if you want to of course!) we love seeing plans! Such small victories!! Wiz Built @ Brooks Reach Built the Verdelho Guest with Beechwood Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2754Aug 18, 2013 3:35 pm I'm building the house that is on display at haywards bay the vedhelloh jazz but I have to trim it down a little to fit the block. Hopefully it runs all smoothly after the block is registered I originally had the "pavilion 3" I think it was called. Going from your pics that is what you chose? Beautiful looking facade but with my the trimming down of the sides I didn't want it to looked too squashed with the thin master bedroom windows. What exterior colours have you chosen? Iv picked austral topaz brick, monument roof and fasia and a coaba timber look garage door and smooth pebble moroka. Good to talk to a BW building in brooks reach. ill check out the link. But the fact I have to trim it down made my mind up I think it's 300mm off one side (bedroom side) and 350mm off the garage side. I'm actually building it as my first home/investment property. The plan is to live their for first 6 months to claim first home buyers then after 6 months rent it out and continue to live with my parents ( who have deposited a block in stage 10) so it's a win win situation my plan is to move back into the house after 5 years or so though choosing exterior colours were hard though I think it's because you can't see them all togeather that's the hardest part. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2757Aug 18, 2013 5:16 pm All this talk about bricks and trim - I can see how those decisions are as difficult as the interior ones. Seems like a way off for us but I'm looking forward to it.
We just got our first tender back........has anyone else been charged a "travel allowance" ? We're in the Sydney metro area and they want an extra $2575 on top of the advertised Sydney price !! I've emailed them a query about this because I think it's a bit cheeky..... And those pesky floor wastes - we had another look around the Cremorne at Oran Park and it has plastic ones. Those of you who had them included well done, but it's something that should be checked to make sure. Also, noticed the toilets are not close coupled (hope that's the right term) which will be a pain to clean - we're going to try and supply our own (as well as other bathroom items)..... Don't know till you ask ! Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2758Aug 18, 2013 5:20 pm And Bradcrossley91, think we might have met your folks while looking around the Verd Jazz at Howards Bay a couple of weeks ago - if they're a couple of lovely poms? ( I say that cause my folks are lovely Poms too ). Re: Who is building with Beechwood 2759Aug 18, 2013 5:24 pm yeah that would be them they are currently getting a tender done for the jazz what house are you looking at building? I've become so absorbed in all this it's affecting my sleep, lol. Now I'm looking into reducing costs by getting our own plumber to install and connect the water tanks- and do we have to have 5000 litres? (My husband thinks I've gone mad). I mentioned this forum to your parents so I'm glad you're on board. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110570 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11035 |
