Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Berwick with Porter Davis 2Apr 15, 2010 3:03 pm We have a block at Heritage Springs and we had the house sited with a full quote last week and the site costs would have been about $7k by memory (Foxley 29, so would likely be more for a 35). Not too bad, but that was only by looking at the engineering, have you asked about fixing the site costs?? Apparently they do it for some people..... Re: Building in Berwick with Porter Davis 3Apr 16, 2010 11:46 am Thanks Our Land is not flat and sales consultant allowed 16k. it is around 900 - 1000mm fall. Ok... i will ask for the fixed site cost. foxley 29 single storey if i am not wrong. Cremorne is double storey and less footprint compaired with yours. Have you seen the soil report?? is that class M or H? How about construction period? Have they add extra time for contractor holiday, variation and weather etc... Regards MM Re: Building in Berwick with Porter Davis 4Apr 16, 2010 4:01 pm Nice, another Porter Davis build. I paid my deposit a month ago and have my contract appointment in 3 weeks. They are really busy because of the influx before the first home buyers ends. Anyway I'm not sure about the fall of my land, I don't think it is much and I got roughly $8,890 fixed site costs. I'm building in the West. Looking forward to seeing your build Re: Building in Berwick with Porter Davis 5Apr 16, 2010 5:58 pm We built with PD in Marriott Waters (Lyndhurst) and the site costs were $10k which included H class slab and concrete under the portico and alfresco. House is 35sq single storey so yours should be cheaper being a double storey and smaller slab. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. It seems that most of soil report classified class H and builders charge extra. Hey there, I was quoted for a H class slab because it has a better strength for soil that might move.. I would rather get extra support in the long run Re: Class M or H slab 10Apr 19, 2010 12:13 pm Victoria_g06 mervyn Did anyone get Class M slab? It seems that most of soil report classified class H and builders charge extra. Hey there, I was quoted for a H class slab because it has a better strength for soil that might move.. I would rather get extra support in the long run Hi Its nothing wrong with strength of slab either H or M. both depends on content of clay. Class M is moderately reactive and H is highly reactive to clay. All depends on the Engineer who test the soil. I have two reports by two tester and confirm M on one H on the other. i can not understand this....... Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12337 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110570 |
