Browse Forums Building A New House Re: [CDandRB's Burbank Victory 1500 - Devonia Park] Almost D 201Nov 02, 2010 8:45 pm Hi ..went down today still very muddy neally got bogged walking around house. Rang NB and was told that they have installed other homes no problems.(Antenna) SS said that it would be no problem. We will wait and see at inspection what the go is. We have a locked box in Garage assume that is the one you are talking about. I dont think they are supposed to paint concrete. We are supposed to get coloured Concrete. So dont know if that is same thing. Our interior has been cleaned it looks like and Garage doors have been almost finished installed. Still have Facade to finish and painting. Good about fencing let us know. I really think that they are all about the same in cost. Re: [CDandRB's Burbank Victory 1500 - Devonia Park] Almost D 202Nov 05, 2010 10:45 am Ours is definately painted It's done with a *** wire broom and some pretty hefty chemicals. They did the porch at the same time. It lasts about 3-4 years and then needs to be redone, which is fine.. The colour has gone back to a grey, which the council knocked back during the permit application We also got told that our house will be the only one WITHOUT an antenna lol. I remember specifically noting it during the electrical and was very specific about the cabling We've been told to expect a call "any day now" as the final piece is being done (the downpipe on the portico). I've got a small list of defects.. but overall, very happy. Has anyone had experience with the indoor paint, with regards to long plasterboard joins being visible? We have a striped hallway at the moment, and while I will be raising it.. I wonder how "fixable" it is.. just a thicker coat, or? Garage door still not finished. 3 screen done, but not 2 on the front. Obviously still need bull nose roof and hood done, blinds and driveway. Did you see that they have taken a brick out from under one of the cabinets on side ??? may be to do with Fibre. TV Antenna,,,,,Had a discussion with girl at Electrical that we did not need it. obviously listened. What is the go with your Solar Panels. See what you mean about drive way. But I think the Gray looks good. What colour were you supposed to have? But all that aside WE are so happy with what has been done so far and really looking forward to moving in. with fencing...cause we have to have front fence we are going to continue colorbond to footpath. I have seen it done in Lakeside and looks good. it is a lower height to match front fences. will give a good definition to front yard. Then we have to get front fence built so have asked Burbank not to install letter box...Lets see if they do The letter box wont match the fence we are getting done. Have you heard from your fencing comp.about quote.? Burbank have treated us all so well, so you're in safe hands. We also have built the boardwalk facade too Very happy and close to handover. Have you done your colour selections and EDGE yet? So far Burbank have been terrific. The whole process has been pretty stressful though I must admit. A big learning curve! From what Ive read, I think I know your house as its just around the corner from mine. It looks fantastic! Yes I did my colour selections last month. I was reading your messages and it looks like your kitchen benchtops and cabinets and floor tiles are the same as mine. Haha! Must have great taste. My facade is surfmist for garage, front door and around the front bedroom, and monument for the cladding, porch, spouting and down pipes. Windows are silver gloss. I hope it all looks ok once they get started! This is the "on site" team and they'll guide you through construction. We didn't stray too from much in the package, was very mindful of budget because we wanted to get a bit more in the way of furniture and stuff afterwards, so far it's paid off well Which bricks and roof did you go with? Yep, you probably do know our house, we're on Park Orchard - jabblo's one is right next door and it is the same house, with the outback facade - I believe the front paint is surfmist too so this should give you a good idea as to what yours will look like. Moument is a lovely colour (like with just about all colourbond ones! IMO) and it should contrast nicely. You should start up a build thread and get your signature going, so we can all follow your progress. If you would like a bit more info on how to do it I'm happy to PM you the infos CDandRB have built: Victory 1500 (Boardwalk) in Devonia Park, Pakenham. Yeah I was a bit the same with the budget. I also found I didnt have to upgrade on much as it was all pretty good anyway. My roof colour is charcoal Bristile Classic Shingle. I think its much the same as the other burbank houses there. Bricks are Jarrah. I will have a look at jabblos house next time Im down there so I can get an idea of the surfmist. Thanks for that. Its very hard to picture when they give u a sample on a tiny card! He He I have had a very trouble free ride with Burbank and I haven't heard much bad stuff either. Only problem we have had is the NO TINTING on bathroom window and NO WINDOW in Laundry. little things that we missed on reviewing plans. Also they installed TV antenna when asked not to. Our Colours are Ironstone, Dune, Surfmist. Surfmist is front door and posts and trim around windows. Dune is Boards. And LOOKY LOOKY they installed our Letter box when we asked them not tooo. Which all in all is nothing in the big picture. and all problems are easily worked around. love our driveway and hopefully we will have facades finished soon then I think that is it. We have contacted a Fence Contractor for a Quote. So things are still progressing in a real positive way. My Hubby and I are trying to guess what all the tubes and boxes and cable sticking out the side of the house and out of the ground around the house are all for?. The HOSE is fibre I think. CDand RB hope all goes well on your PCI good luck.... Re: [CDandRB's Burbank Victory 1500 - Devonia Park] PCI on 2 215Nov 16, 2010 9:47 pm Thanks Jabblo! Yeah its pretty much been smooth sailing for me as well. The only issue I had was just before June 30th they called me and said there was a problem with the price of my land and I had to go in for a meeting. Panic stations! So basically delfin had to sell the land to burbank before June 30th and because of this I had to fork out the costs of fees and stamp duty for burbank My land price got bumped up $6000. Of course I was going to pay it. Apparently a few other burbank customers copped this as well and there were a few issues. They did admit that they stuffed up and felt bad. They also covered the increase in my stamp duty cost which was about $200. Luckily however, I noticed the window in the bathroom and the door in the laundry. I added obscure glazing which I think was about $50 and then upgraded the laundry door to one with a half window - $120! I question why you would you provide us with a laundry with no window and then a door without one?? Doesnt make sense. Lovely colours for your house! I think I have seen it. Have you got the ultra silver gloss for the window frames? I spoke to my admin officer yesterday and my drafts have been completed and will be posted this week. Then there has to be 3 other steps then they apply for building permits. I'm getting anxious and hope to see the slab down before xmas!
