Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 12, 2010 9:13 pm Hi All, First of all great forum! since i have discovered it i have learnt a lot from browsing the various topics...and yes i have searched for an answer to my question so pls go easy on me don't just say use search I am considering purchasing either 1 of 2 propertes, both in suburb under brimbank council in melb's west and both have city west water as the water supplier so i am hoping the answer to these questions is the same for both, but obviously i will be calling the council and/or city west water to verify i was just hoping i could get a quick heads up here so i can evaluate both of these opportunities.. one is a an existing house on block over 600sqm which has scope for sub division, it has an easement at the rear boundary, i understand i cant build on the actual easement, nor would i want to, but how far away from the easement can i build a dwelling? Tried google and city west water site, from what i can understand if i want to build within 1m of the easement i need approval, over 1m i don't.. is that correct? Will i need any special slab work near the easement? the 2nd option i have is to buy a vacant block of land on an alraedy sub-divided block, with approved design, i however would prefer to choose a design from your standard project builder as from what i read here it will be a lot cheaper, have found a design i like already from a display village and they agreed the land is suitable so no changes required to design, so when i buy the land with the existing design is it straight forward to submit and amendment to the already approved plans and how much will it cost? thanks in advance, this is great forum to learn for noobs like me! 3 1204 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17168 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense. In NSW you would contact a Water services co-ordinator and they would give you advice as to whether or not… 1 16148 |
