DreamHome 2010 - Got the Keys (Handover Complete)

PCI went fine. Few things to be fixed:

Color stains on bricks to be cleaned
Reclean required
tap and shower in ensuite were leaking and needed fix
Few power points not working, needs fixing

Everything else was fine. I was told that the above will be fixed within 3 days. Looks like we can get keys within few days. More pictures to follow.

PCI Completed fine. Now, i need to do all the work, that the builder is not doing. Tiling, carpets, blinds, liquid limestone, lawn etc...

I am getting ready to do all of the above.

Pics as promised. Like the garage door, was initially concerned if it will go well with the facade.

Got the Keys...
Very happy, all has went well.
Painter already started should be complete by wednesday.
Then i have booked the tiler from thursday to monday.
Then carpets on wednesday after.
Liquid limestone and lawn is going in next week.

Will post more pics after i get some of the above work done.

Thanks to all the support so far from all the members here, we have successfully completed our Pre-start.

It took us around 6 hours to complete our prestart. Our prestart lady was very very nice, she was patient to show us through all the options and explain each one, for us to do the selections.

We spent around $12,000 in prestart.

Bulk of the above money was spent in the following areas:

1. MW / Oven Port Drawers - $1500
2. Laundry Bench Top & Cupboards with clothes drawer - $1800
3. Feature Front Entrance Door Upgrade - $800
4. Upgrade to Colorbond Roof - $1500
5. Increase Robes in Bedroom 2, 3 & 4 with sliding doors - $600
6. Electrical - $1400
7. Garage Upgrade - $400
8. Rangehood enclosed in cupboards and upgrade to slideout - $500
9. Feature Windows (times 3) - $500 each

We were presented with the standards HIA contract, which says a start date no later than 40 days of receiving approvals, and completion with 250 days. We negotiated to change the completion day to be within 180 days.

I will update soon with Photos and more details.

Since we have signed our contracts, i think it will be appropriate now to have our own forum thread to discuss and provide regular updates, so that it can help the new members who are looking to get information.

Your home looks so nice! We are building with Ross North too.And we choose the same floor plan as yours!!(The Auburn right?!).I'm wondering how much you spent on the variations of the plan? 'Cause we may want to have those changes as well.

Yes its the modification on Auburn plan.

Together with all the modifications it cost us around $215k.
I have spent another 35K for the following
Rectified Porcelein Tiles
Carpets
Blinds
Liquid Limestone for driveway and around the house
Lawn
Reticulation
Solar System
Timber Decking

Holy cow Mark your house looks absolutely fab! How cool is that tile motif in the entry hey.

Our's is almost done too....cant wait. What's the process for handover? I presume the builder will call and say its done and asks for PCI....then once we agree everything is OK we inform our bank for their valuer to come over? Im just worried the bank's valuer will delay everything.....
