Prepare Schematic Design Drawings (includes: site visit, preparation of floor plan, front elevation) $1400 plus GST Prepare Contract Documents to obtain a Building Permit and Builders to tender on project $3600 plus GST 1. Soil Engineer "we had a soil test done before purchasing the block of land at Point Cook Melbourne" is there something the soil tester needs to do besides drill 5 holes in the ground and advise what kind of slab to put down? If so what other costs are involved? 2. Structural Engineer "my guess is he will look over the final drawing to ensure the structure is sound" what would be the approximate cost here for a double story house 3. Building Surveyor "no idea what they do"? What would be the approximate cost 4. Land Surveyor (if the design requires to be built on the boundary) "i don't think we'll require as the block is flat" 5. Energy Rating Report. What would be the approximate cost? Thanks Milt, Re: Building cost first up! And what do all these people do? 2Sep 13, 2007 3:53 pm Structural engineers - to check and certify buildings for their structural adequacy; to certify designs for submission of plans for Building Licence approval.
I was told it would cost around $2000-$5000 for a double storey house. Land surveying - survey your land's boundary, current building footing, contour (elevations), trees, surrounding streets, neighbouring buildings/windows/trees. It costed me $880. Some quoted from $1600-$2500. custom probably not. Volume, most defiantly, but spec would vary. If youre doing a knock down, there additional costs associated with that that will eat into your budget… 1 10224 |
