We don't get light bulbs as standard (can you believe it???) so that's a great one. Also love the idea of taking a mirror, camera (doh! how could I forget that one!!) & also forgot to add a roll of adhesive 'dots' to note defects/incomplete items. Never thought to take something to test the GPO's -- so that one is great too. Our SS said it would take 90 mins -- we have other ideas!! 3 hours sounds about right Pix Built a (highly) modified Allcastle Maxworth 38.7 in Sydney. Re: What To Take To PCI: Suggestions Please 6Apr 09, 2010 4:35 pm One thing we will be taking, which of course won't be relevant to everyone, is a screw driver. We have conduit and blank wall plates in the theatre, which they have pushed the conduit so far into the 'wall-plate-box-thing' (there may or may not be a more technical term for that ) that it will be near impossible to pull the cable through. We spotted it soon as it was done and asked for it to be fixed - either by pushing the conduit back up so the overhang is above the ceiling part, or cutting the conduit level (or just below level) with the start of the wall plate. Last we checked they hadn't fixed it. And now today the blank wall plates have gone on, so we'll take a screw driver to check it all out at PCI. A bit hard to figure what are you talking about My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: What To Take To PCI: Suggestions Please 8Apr 10, 2010 12:53 pm Here's a photo that hopefully shows what I mean. TBH this is hubby's department, but he says with having 3+ cables in the conduit, it's harder to curve them around and out when the conduit isn't flush with the box. The way they are now, they sort of have to be bent on a 90 degree angle which can damage the cable. They should all be flush with the box like the middle one is at the top. We have nothing like that All our cables, including all electricity wiring, is just "hanging out there" and all of those wires that have to run close to or along any external wall are just literally on the walls (many probably pressed against the brick by insulation batts). Do you know why are your cables all enclosed within conduits? Was that a special request of yours, or ...? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... We requested those conduits in the theatre to hide the mass of cables, we were planning on mounting the TV on to the wall and that way all the cables would be out of sight. All other electrical cables (power points, light switches) are just run down a small channel in the brickwork. Re: What To Take To PCI: Suggestions Please 12Apr 10, 2010 9:17 pm Take a bucket and check that the floor drains in the laundry, bathrooms etc aren't blocked. We were always worried about our laundry as there seemed to always be bulders rubble in it. Sure enough, we poured water in it and it's totally blocked. Also, flush each toilet and check the floor area to make sure there are no leaks. Ours was totally dry, but when flushed it leaked everywhere. Wouldn't have picked it up unless we flushed the toilet. (We were quite thorough with our toilets, as the original ones were incorrect and they all have to be removed and replaced with the correct ones) Good Luck Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20355 Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet. They know they did not do proper jobs and I sent the email re: final payment, I cannot pay. They said, we will do 2nd PCI. Since… 2 5486 We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing.
