Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 08, 2010 4:00 pm Hi, We are building with wisdom at Blacktown (Stonecutters ridge) and have just received in the mail a one page letter from the Blacktown council that we need to pay $690 to lodge the Road Damage Bond... Calling wisdom they basically said it was for us to pay. I called the council and asked who normally pays the builder or owner and they said it varies on who the builder is. Is this normal for wisdom? Thanks Re: Road Damage Bond - Blacktown 3Apr 09, 2010 1:59 am Hi, Yep - we are building with Wisdom and yes had to pay the Road bond ourselves. At least you got a letter, we just got told it may hold things up if we did'nt pay, so had better do it early in the process. One tip is that sometimes the council will try and put it in the builders name, just make sure it's put in your name. We were also told to not hold your breath to get it back. May be a number of months after completion. (if not longer) All the best. Re: Road Damage Bond - Blacktown 5Aug 06, 2010 12:28 pm Hi Guys, Sorry to dig up an old thread. Does anyone know how to actually pay this bond? we got the hand-written letter in the post, but it did not describe how we had to go about it. I will ring the council when I can but unfortunately I left the letter at home.
