henley home builders
My partner an I have had many issues with this builder from day one. It
is only due to our provactive persistence in making regular visits and our
constant complaining that results have been made. Sometimes not to our
satisfaction. In fact I think that if i didn't have an understanding boss I
probably would be fired for the amount of times I have called henley during
my work hours chasing up on work when its been Henley's duty to contact me.
When people sign up to Henley homes they are paying Henley to provide a
service to them and not the other way around. If we make an inquiry we
expect a response. If we have an issue it needs to be resolved, not weeks
later but within reason. Henley's service is not to be recommended and here are the following reasons why:
1. Batons on the frame work have been broken.
2. A wall oven and microwave cavity was not built into the frame (I think
someone needs to learn how to read house drawings there)
3. Specific Electrical points were missing.
And here is the icing on the cake for all weary potential clients, the
colour consultant failed to ask whether we wanted different colours on
our skirting and archertrives. Instead an assumption was made. Fancy
that!!!
With this issue its a case of 50/50. We were the naive first home builders
who apparently had to have the knowledge of regular builders to query our
colour consultant that we wanted additional colours for our skirting and
archertrive. That's right folks after only a limited time with our
consultant we were expected to know every little detail in relation to
colours for our home!!!
I may be wrong but I would like to refer back to my initial point that WE
are paying Henley to provide a service. As a colour consultant, they are
paid to provide advice and service Henley customers towards the designs of
homes... As a result of their inadequate service and my silly first home
buyer inexperience, I am now left with a home that is being painted all one
colour. Thanks Henley for your great Colour Consultants!!!!
The end of result to this issue - We are left with a home painted in one
colour which I will be paying for through henley and the additional cost of
purchasing paint at our own cost to re- paint the house.
Some people may like to think that this might be just a one of those
instances, but wait there is more, we have spoken to many other henley
fatalities and they have worse stories than I. Here are just a few stories:
1. The wrong roof tiles installed.
2. Forgetting to install walls (hard to miss on a plan your would think)
3. Incorrect doors installed
4. Wave in windows
5. Poor quality in customer service
6. Vague answers to queries and time frames
Now in terms of inspection an approval policy is in place where by if the
job is done 95% correctly then an approval is passed. So what happens to
the other 5% i ask? Are customers intitled to a refund for the 5%
inefficiency??? Would you like your doctor to cure your cancer 100% or 95%
????
At the end of the day, please be aware of what you are getting yourselves
into, my partner thought that we had covered all our bases but still we
were short changed. Remember to be proactive and remember you are paying them and not the other way around!!!!
But you may want to re name Henley….lets say Hen!! We all know who you are talking about now, but just to be safe lets not name companies…..
SO when I get home I will make a nice comment about HEN!
Where abouts are you building?
Who is your administrator and sales consultant?
Who was the colour consultant?
What stage of building are you at at the moment?
PM me if you don't want to post in in the thread...
Wow!
Do a search on H*nl*y in here and you will find a few people in the same situation as you too....

Matt
Im not alone in my fight agains them!!!!!
I feel your frustration but I'm sure everything will work out in the end.
Good luck!!
Henley is watching this forum. So hopefully everything will turns okay for you...
Good luck to ALL having issues, I hope they are resolved!
ie building 20,000 new homes across Australia and 15 people complain on here.
5000 people read it and 10% take notice.
Of those 500, 50% were never going to be clients anyway, 25% will go with them because of value for money or other reasons and the other 25% (125 people) don't seem to matter.
Less than 1% of all their clients ... ???
Now if that figure was 5-1-% maybe....
Matt
You must be heard….. and it doesn’t matter who hears you, but all the better if its Henley!
So my question is, how many of us are there out there that have problems and how many just dont realise.
Hope that you guys finally get things sorted out in your favor.
In any building job, mistakes will be made. This is to be expected. However, these mistakes have to be fixed and in a timely manner.
I'm not concerned how many mistakes a builder makes, that's their problem. What I am concerned about is how they react when they are identified and how quickly they rectify it.
So Henley, here is your chance to show us all if you are a good builder.
Cheers,
Casa

Thats the thing tho, I have met heaps of other Henley customers and not heard a single good story.

We are building with Henley and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Building process has been smooth, our building supervisor is great, we have had great communication regarding weekly calls from them updating us with progress. No mistakes at all.
So there are good stories with Henley out there.
<------ here's one right here.
I think you hold the record for the most replies in 2 hours - 14 replies.
This goes to show you how important the topic is to those on the forum.
If it's one thing we all want - more than the right bath tub, tub or type of kitchen benchtop - it's a builder that we can work with and trust. By trust, I don’t mean honesty, I mean someone who is competent and willing to work with the customer. (I assume that all builders are honest, and if not, the courts will take care of them.)
Good luck with your plight and it's great to see that you've posted this and with facts to back up your assertion.
Cheers,
Casa
This kind of action shows a guilty concience by our builder, who obviously has a lot to hide.
Maybe He*nley* should try and get the job done right rather than hide from its mistakes like an animal with its tales between his legs.!!!

I don't think so mate.
I guess the forum moderator did that to avoid the situation where the big firm might sue the website i.e. for defamation.

Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for home builders in the Hamptons style in the Hornsby LGA, for two storey builds on battle-axe blocks. Thanks,
