Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 05, 2010 9:59 am Hi all, I'm hoping that there's someone else who is building in this new subdivision - there's only 7 of us so far (out of 11 blocks) but you never know... I will be interested to see what everyone else is building in this space. Hi Donuts, Here is a link to the land: http://www.realestate.com.au/property-r ... nd-2682311 I believe it's a subdivision rather than an estate, I'm not sure of the difference to be honest, but you can build with whoever you like. It's got a really lovely feel to it, and I'm sincerely hoping our house will blend in... though hard to know! Woodend's lovely, so looking forward to moving there. Have a look at realestate.com.au for other places, there are more and more little blocks turning up, both on their own and part of estates. We've been thinking about Woodend for years, we have more and more friends moving both there and around the area, so it's nice to see a community developing. I hope the town retains its feel. How long have you lived there? I'm starting to get the classic country-style connections already, for instance the person who's building next to us is related to the real estate agent who sold us the land - I love all of that. I've lived in a few towns now so am quite familiar with those connections! It takes about a year for that to happen when you move to a city. Anyway - tangent! Still getting the hang of this place! I guess we just lucked in - we liked the Ascent 2500 and they said they would build in Woodend -but charged us 5k extra. Since signing up I have learnt of some fantastic builders that other people are going with in our little street - Storybook Homes, Nusteel, Yarra Valley Homes... I don't think they have a display village in Woodend but you might have some luck in Gisborne or Kyneton. Good luck!
