Does anyone know whether these have a good reputation? There are a few threads under the flooring forum, mostly mentioning the quickstep and not much on other brands. Hoffdog-what do you think of the formica, how does it compare in price? I really liked the mocha oak clour and our whole house floored, as we are having them everywhere came to 13,300 installed and house is 234 sqm Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 7Apr 04, 2010 2:22 pm Not sure about the reputation, but we are going with Armstrong. Like you we preferred the colour. It also came in 12mm high gloss, which the others didn't when we were looking. Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 10Apr 06, 2010 7:13 pm if i could afford it i would go for the armstrong for sure, it looks so good in the gloss, i love the brush box. quick step do not do a gloss. formica have an embossed finished, whatever that means? Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 11Apr 06, 2010 8:17 pm I have not yet laid the formica gloss but i have laid another formica range and it was cheap crap all the boards where lippy and it expanded a lot more than it should have. Another problem was it had a very funny looking finish to it that looked like it had no wear layer on it but sales rep said it was normall. Can you please just confirm that it is the Armstrong forest select laminate in brushbox. It looks awesome. We are pretty keen on the forest select range for our home and it is great to see it laid. Cheers Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 16Jul 16, 2010 6:34 am That is the one. They seem to have longer boards available now too. Best of luck. Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 17Jul 16, 2010 9:53 am Are you completely happy with your floor. I can't believe how good it looks. Hubby is worried about the bevelled edges of the boards. To be honest I didn't even notice it until he pointed it out. What do you think?? Sorry about the 20 questions. Are you putting up any more pics of the floor as I would love to see some more. We were going to go with the Tasmanian Oak, though I really like what you have - still time to change our mind I guess. Cheers Re: Which brand of laminate timber flooring??? 18Jul 16, 2010 1:24 pm I'm very happy with the floor. Yes the bevelled edges are there, but you can't notice them. Armstrong tout it as a design feature anyway. If you don't like the bevelled edges, try the Spotted Gum from Proline Floors. It will take some time for me to get some clear photos up. I'm still waiting for the internet to be turned on at home, and I haven't yet moved my PC. Best of luck deciding, I know it took me a whiel!
