Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 841Mar 02, 2011 8:52 am We had a snake in our garden near the end of last year, it was also a brown snake but was cream in colour. It was about two feet long. We haven't seen it since - think we scared it off. I was wondering why you'd want to leave already too, if you did sell would you build again and in the same area? We had three agents through last week and have one coming back this evening so that he can talk with hubby too; house should be on the market this week and hopefully won't take too long to sell so that we can start the process of building on our block. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 842Mar 02, 2011 9:52 am jessie87 So with that, he said that he would have damaged the stormwater and pavers and they are getting a professional to do the stormwater at no cost and getting someone to replace the 2 pavers that he chipped! I thought that I might be cheeky and ask him about soil removals. We got three quotes $1400, 850 and 500 (although he was double checking that he has quoted correctly for what we wanted). He called Troy back and said $300 So he did most of it today and doing the rest tomorrow, it looks amazing So we are laying the gradd hopefuly this weekend! carlswil Congrats on getting some work done. Are you talking about selling your new house? If so, why would you want to do that? +1... ? Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 844Mar 02, 2011 5:52 pm We are doing private sale and if we dont get the price we want we wont sell it. We want 900sqm2-1000sqm2. In the same development Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 845Mar 02, 2011 8:08 pm Wow Jessie, you want to build again?!? Would you consider building with Fairmont again? Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 846Mar 03, 2011 12:33 pm ...are you aware that the rest of Stage 6 wont be available for at least another 18 - 24 months ? They are the only 900 - 1000m blocks left over (from memory). Was speaking to Land SA representative the other day who mentioned that they are closing crouch road and a few other parts as the development permits are taking some time. He did however confirm that a pub/hotel is still on the cards, although its yet to be not confirmed. Keep the dream alive !! Most new build houses, when done correctly (ie good fixtures, fittings, and finish which is what you have definately acheived), accrue "instant equity" (maybe 50 - 100K ?) over the cost of the build so in many cases, you can do quite well out of it....as long as you are prepared to let go of something you are probably emotionally attached to !!! Just thinking out loud.... When you find the larger block you are after, will you walk back to fairmonts (same salesman even) and say "I want a carbon copy of my last house but for 15K less. I will sign up right now. Take it or leave it. You have 30 seconds to decide or im walking to <builder X>" They might just take it, as they factor in the time taken for selections, negotiation, etc as part of the purchase price. Either way, good luck with the sale ! Why are priates scary ? Because they yaargh.. Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 847Mar 03, 2011 4:30 pm I think there are a couple of blocks left in stage four although the big ones are on hold. There are only a few in stage 6 over 800m so one would have to be quick when they are released. http://www.realtysa.com.au/_webapp_6217 ... lden_Grove Good to see the tavern is still on the cards too - hopefully it'll have a nice little restaurant https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Jessica SA! You'd be an expert when it comes to their selections this time around if you went with them again. It would be much easier to budget as you'd have a fair idea of what the extras cost. Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 852Mar 07, 2011 2:24 pm Hey Jessie I'm fascinated that your maybe going to sell. I hope that your house is worth a lot more than it cost you! I can actually relate to wanting more land - even though I struggle to keep up with my little garden...1,000sqm is a nice size block. You could actually plant a big tree - and have windows looking out on something other than fences...nice. Hope the wedding preparations are coming together well. Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 853Mar 07, 2011 8:09 pm Hi Jessie, I don't think you're nuts to consider building again. When we moved into our last home I was bitten by the build bug. It just took me 18 years to get the new one. And... we wont be doing it again. We love our new home. Just wanted to drop in and say Hi to you. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Jessica SA! Not so nice visitor.... 1 metre snake 854Mar 13, 2011 11:10 am We will see where everything takes us Just saw some big land close by but a bit over 300k just for the land and we know footings will be massive! We wouldnt change alot on our house so its not because we want to change its more of the land. Troy laid some grass down yesterday and today and there is a bit of grass, once everything is done and we get the real estate agen around when the garden is done, we will go from there havent been around a lot.... under a month til the wedding! Yeh we will see I think we will do private... so no formal advertising and see how that goes. I dont want to spend a coupld of grand on advertising as we will only accept a certain price. We love our house, but just want enough room to put a pool in for when we have kids and just a bit bigger yard. Thanks Under a months.... EEK!!! scary stuff! dress fitting in a couple of weeks.
