Because of the area we were intending to build in they already knew the type of soil they would encounter. Building in Melbourne west. They advised me that the specs written with the bores and piers are the same as the H-D but since the soil test was H they had to write it down as H with the same specs as a H-D. Is this the usual ? I don't mind paying extra if it keeps the house from cracking in the long run. Just dun want to pay extra for absolutely nothing for a cheaper product. If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there?
