Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our new Aushomes home - Internal pictures 21Jan 07, 2011 4:31 pm 8 months since moving in.. and there is still so much to do... (I just need to win lotto first so that I can afford to do what I want to do ) Still waiting on the builders to fix issues bought up at the 6month inspection and before hand! Sick of hearing their excuses! Here are a couple of house to home pictures. I definately don't boast to be any good at interior designing (especially when looking at some of the homes on here) so feel free to be honest and tell me what looks good and what doesn't. Looking in from the entrance. I'm thinking a feature wall for the wall behind the couch. Not sure what colour.. a brown? a green? Maybe this could have a feature wall too that compliments with the feature wall behind the couch.. since you can see both these walls from the entrance picture. The colour scheme is lovely. I agree that a feature colour on the wall behind the couch could be lovely, especially as you get a glimpse through the front door like that. The Dulux website has a program where you upload a photo of your room and you can try out different colours to see what it will look like. kyiee81 has feature walls Dulux "Paris Creek" with a similar coloured lounge to yours - see this post. That would fit with the relaxed feel to your home, but then a bold colour would be stunning too. Kylie Thanks Kylie How have I not come accross kyiee81's photos before and i've been stalking this forum for so long I think that that 'Paris Creek' would be perfect for our lounge room! Its such a nice relaxed earthy colour. Also how awesome are kyiee81's wooden blinds embedded in her walls? I jut have to convince DP that 'Paris Creek' would indeed be perfect since we have different tastes. I do actually have a green feature wall in the spare bedroom. Before we moved into the house me and DP had an agreement since our design tastes differed that he could decorate his games room with no input from me and I could decorate the spare bedroom with no input from him. Therefore I put a green feature wall in the bedroom. I jut have to convince him that more green is needed. I'm just worried that there will be too much differing colour. This is the colour of the feature wall in the spare bedroom. Dulux robinhood. Its probably not the best picture and doesn't capture the colour just right... I just didn't want to post pictures of the spare bedroom because its messy and nowhere near finished. Maybe I should just post unfinished pictures and get suggestions from everyone on here how to finish it? Dulux 'Tibetan Silk' is a bold colour and earthy... Checkout Erin's thread for that colour... There's also 'Aviva' and 'Vast Escape' which are afew tones lighter. 'Bronze Fig' is also gorgeous but has a slight grey tone to it, again checkout Erin's thread LOL 'Salty Seeds' is also a favourite of mine I've literally just painted my entryway 'Plantain'... Greens... crisp and bright OR mellow?? Re: Home sweet Home. Interior design suggestions most welcom 26Jan 08, 2011 12:24 pm pattycake4 your house looks lovely,I like your choice of colours. Greens... crisp and bright OR mellow?? Thanks flagsstaffIV. I don't think that i'm corageous enough to be bold Though Erin's house does look awesome with her bold feature walls. Also bearing in mind that I still have to convince DP and i'm sure that it will be easier to covince him to go with mellow rather than bold. This is not our forever house since the defence forces are sure to make us move away soon. So i'm not sure is when selling/renting other people will be drawn to a more mellow house or a bold house. Bronze Fig looks good in Erin's house because she has a lot of grey tones but i'm not sure it would look quite right in ours. I'm liking the look of Plantain. Maybe something slighty mellower but on the same scheme of things? I don't know.. too many decisions! I thought picking a house was hard! Interior design suggestions most welcom 27Jan 08, 2011 12:45 pm The Dulux Colour Forecast pages could be useful. What about Dulux "Aviva" - it seems to be a similar toning to your existing feature wall and "Tibetan Silk" but is a little more subtle. "Eaves" is another subtle green that I love. "Self-Destruct" is a great colour too - my SIL has some feature walls with it and it seems to change colour depending on what other colours she has against it (furniture and cushions, lighting etc). That could be handy for a rental because it would go with most colours. Kylie Re: Home sweet Home. Interior design suggestions most welcom 28Jan 08, 2011 8:12 pm Re: Home sweet Home. I def agree a feature colour would give your home a lift, and my tip is to put some heavy dark timber framed pics on the feature wall and see how that looks then... good luck! I'm obviously too tired right now after night shift. Will try and find it tomorrow. I'm liking Kelly's flower and Reeds's Green too. For that matter I like Plantain too (but I think it might be too dark for my feature wall though). So once again I like too many colours Annietom hi, what a lovely kitchen you have, great colours, in fact the whole home flows well. Thanks I think that heavy dark timber frames would be a great idea. Especially due to the fact that they would match the dark timber entertainment unit. I would take a picture of the whole lounge room except that at the moment it is too messy with a washing basket full of clothes in the middle of it After I sleep after night shift its cleaning and photo taking time Not sure about pics though there are already timber frames with pics in the hallway. So maybe some artwork on the feature wall? Our new house - moved in but so much more to do! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31696&p=442009#p442009 Re: Home sweet Home. Someone above suggested the Dulux site for the program where you upload a photo of your room and then try different colours. It's really fab, if you haven't already, definitely have a look. I had some colours in mind, but once I saw them on the photo in uploaded they were really bleh. Dulux - my colour visualiser http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/mycolour.aspx If you're after something more mellow, Olive Drab (might be under a new Dulux name now ) is really subtle. Looks stunning in your house but you have quite a few grey things to compliment it. I'm thinking it would look slighty out of place at our house. Downloading the Dulux colour visualiser now.
