Hi Sorrento ... yes, my thread is called 'The Entertainer : by Dechellis'. Your entry is looking very impressive - the double doors look great. Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 62May 30, 2010 5:48 pm More dramas with the kitchen...arggggghhhhhhhh!!!! The joinery company called me on Friday and said that they have sprayed all the cabinetry with the 2 pak gloss but the colour has come back darker. Apparantly Dulux have changed the colour mix but the joinery company wasnt aware. They wanted us to come and have a look and let them know if we were happy as is or wanted it resprayed as per the original colour. My husband called them and they said that they noticed immediately that there was a difference so my husband said that we want them re done as per the original colour because if its that obvious we wont be happy and it would be a wasted trip. The paint colour on the walls was selected to perfectly suit the cabinetry so that it didnt throw off other colour tones. The paint colour is a Dechellis blend of Dulux paint. We didnt want any variation to the cabinetry as this could affect the entire colour scheme. The joinery company were not happy but they did give us the option. I am a bit concerned about them sanding down and respraying the cabinetry but my husband thinks we wouldnt notice but I like things perfect and new not resrayed...any thoughts?? On a happier note I called Dechellis as I was concerned about the huge delay in the kitchen and the impact on the handover date but to my suprise the SS said that handover is scheduled for the first week of August instead of the 24/8 Very happy about that!!! We went to the house yesterday but it didnt look like anything had been done this week Building the Sorrento (modified) with Dechellis Status: Paving in progress Site works commenced: 22/2/10 Pre Handover: 14/9/10 Handover: 23/9/10 My thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31665 Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 63May 30, 2010 7:53 pm Hi - I thought it was about time that I uploaded my plans! Unfortunately our scanner is broken and cant be fixed so I have taken pictures of the house and kitchen plans. The quality isnt that good but at least you will get more of an idea about the floor plan and the kitchen design. Your kitchen design is great ! The island configuration has turned out really well I really love the sliding door in the rear bedroom. In hindsight, we would have had both of our rear bedrooms with them. Although in a few years time with two teenagers.....hmmmm, perhaps I did the right thing with windows....perhaps need a quote on steel bars now Those stacker doors are going to be just superb as well, cannot wait to see photos of those in action ! Well done on the handover date too - hope I can get some similar happy news this week. I have a list of q's for my dear SS and that's now on the top of the list ! Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 65May 30, 2010 8:10 pm And I just noticed the beautiful big windows in your other bedrooms, just gorgeous ! Oh yes, a whopping 4 days earlier Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 68Jun 06, 2010 6:39 pm We went to the house yesterday and were very happy to see our gorgeous kitchen installed A tradie was putting up all the eaves on the house and we were suprised when he said he had a key...wooohooo!!!! After all the dramas with the kitchen we are very happy with the result. I am loving the pullout pantry and the small pullout cupboard on the end of the island bench has worked out well. The laundry and ensuite cabinetry is also in. The broom cupboard in the laundry is very small...I hope it fits my ironing board and vacuum cleaner!!! The door also hit the door frame so we will need to install a stopper on the wall...you think they would of allowed for this. But besides this we are very happy Most of the cornices are also up!! Check out my pics!!! Thanks evelyng! We may have handover on the same week. We are scheduled for the first week in August. Ros at H.O said that letters will be going out soon to confirm. I was hoping you would be in a few weeks earlier too...but at least they are on track and not delayed I had a sample of the kitchen cabinetry too which Sampina kindly provided to us and wanted to check the colour was right as they had to respray the kitchen. I had a nice email from Sampina apologising for the delay in the kitchen which was appreciated!! There is still heaps of work to do on the house in 2 months - the painting and tiling will be the biggest jobs. We are having tiling throughout the main living areas expect the lounge and tiles on the portico, alfresco and verandah. They may start the tiling once they have finished tiling your house I am guessing!! They seem to use the same tradies. Do you have benchtops yet ? I last went to the house on the weekend and the bench tops werent in yet It didnt appear that much had happened but we do have down pipes! I am not 100% happy with the location of this downpipe. I know it will look better once its painted but I would of thought it should of run down the side of the garage wall not the front of the house. We are going to have another look on the weekend before deciding wether to request it to be moved. Would like your thoughts and anyone else who is reading. Its a shame it wasn't put there in the first place.... I agree, it will likely look dodgarama to be patched up. They'd have to replace that whole section. We don't have our DPs yet, but I checked my pics and ours is on the garage side not the front. I wonder why yours are different Sorrento I hope I am right about the tiler!! Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 80Jun 25, 2010 4:06 pm Just had a call from Italia Ceramics and our feature tile has been discounted and our 2nd choice has also been discounted But the worse news is our main living area floor tiles will not be available until late July/early August and we are scheduled for handover in early August Not Happy Jan! Dechellis are going to start the bathrooms next week (minus the feature tile) and paint our house earlier than scheduled but this will definitely delay our hand over and cost us thousands of extra dollars in rent Apparently the floor tile we have selected is a stocked item which means Dechellis dont need to preorder but of course they run out when it comes to our house!! They suggested an alternative of a smaller floor tile....NO FRIGGEN WAY (As Somewoman would say!! lol) Just when I started to get excited about the house again Building the Sorrento (modified) with Dechellis Status: Paving in progress Site works commenced: 22/2/10 Pre Handover: 14/9/10 Handover: 23/9/10 My thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31665 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110576 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
