I am starting to get worried that they will never arrive in the country. They have assured us that they wont become discontinued but I cant help but worry Spoke to the owner of the vacant block next to us today regarding fencing and their finance was declined.....we were hoping they would start building soon They mentioned to our fencing contractor that they wanted to build their garage on the boundary but they have to have 1m between the fence and the building as per the building encumbrance!!! They have to get developer approval before they start building so it will get knocked back if they try and sneak that one through!! Hopefully we dont have any issues with them paying for half of the fence. Sorry to vent but I have had a very frustrating day!!! Is there anything else you can do while waiting for handover - stormwater etc ? When we were delayed SS was happy to let us start doing other things to make up time. Hope the fence gets sorted out. Is there anything else you can do while waiting for handover - stormwater etc ? When we were delayed SS was happy to let us start doing other things to make up time. Hope the fence gets sorted out. Its frustrating waiting for the tiles but they match in perfectly with the kitchen & the paint colour. I dont want to change them to save time and regret it later! We are meeting with the owners of the vacant block next door on Sunday along with our fencing contractor to finalise the fence. They will need to retain when they cut into the block to build and our contractor has recommended that they do this upfront otherwise it will cost them more down the track as they will have to pull the fence down and retain. They seem to be coming around to this idea but they need to source the funds to pay for it!!! I cant understand how people dont have funds set aside for building expenses like fencing because thats only the start of it!!! Thanks all the sand I appreciate your comments I am really happy with the facade of the house especially the doors. Its killing me knowing the house is practically ready to move into minus the tiles. Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 156Aug 14, 2010 4:44 pm Rowena good luck for handover - not long now your house is looking great. Really smart facade - you've chosen colours well! Thanks Rowena I would like to take the credit for great choice of colours but we copied the display home In fact most of our selections are the same as the display home as I loved it sooo much!!! I hope you have had some good news from the council - I will check out your thread Building the Sorrento (modified) with Dechellis Status: Paving in progress Site works commenced: 22/2/10 Pre Handover: 14/9/10 Handover: 23/9/10 My thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31665 Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 157Aug 15, 2010 8:57 pm We went to the house today and our temporary stormwater has been done. Also noticed our Portaloo has been removed. I was happy to see it arrive and even happier to see it gone...lol! We met with our future neighbours who seem nice and agreed on the fence - YAH!!! But then they called back to say they had changed their mind....arghhh!!! Very frustrating. They are going to rethink and let us know in a few days. We just want to do the fence and retaining correctly upfront. We spoke to Italia Ceramics on the weekend and it appears the tiles have been delayed another 4 days It just keeps getting pushed out further & further. The tiles are due to be delivered on the 28/8 - 13 days time and counting!!! They spoke to a few builders who told them not to put a fence up until after their house is completed. But I explained to them that as part of our building encumbrance we cant move in until the fence is up. They havent even signed a building contract yet so its unfair to expect us to wait for potentially over a year before putting a fence up!!! We had to pay for fences on our Western & Northern Boundaries prior to construction of our house - we wouldnt expect the other home owners to wait for us!!! Very frustrating!!!!! I guess they cant stop us from putting a fence up but we shouldnt have to pay the entire cost. Hopefully we will have a resolution soon Building the Sorrento (modified) with Dechellis Status: Paving in progress Site works commenced: 22/2/10 Pre Handover: 14/9/10 Handover: 23/9/10 My thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31665 Re: Building the Sorrento with Dechellis 160Aug 15, 2010 10:37 pm Sorrento jessie87 Sorrento We went to the house today and our temporary stormwater has been done. Hopefully we will have a resolution soon I am sure that you will have a resolution, but if they dont want to do it you can get write a letter giving them 30 days notice and in that timeframe they have to put in writing if they object and the reasons to do so. If they dont respond they have to pay half of the fence. But obviously being neighbours that would definitely be the last resort so hopefully they agree to it Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
