Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 28, 2010 9:09 am So I'm finally making a thread for my build, like everyone else
I hope that most of my posts will have pics but at the beginning, which is now, there are only so many pics of dirt that you can handle It all began last March 2009 when I hopped into the real estate market by buying a block of land in Wyndham Vale, VIC. Pretty lucky because it was the last one left and the lady behind by parents (who were getting the contracts on my behalf) wanted the same one! Fast forward to January this year it suddenly hit me that I should build on it! Why rent a small crappy unit when you can build and design what you want?! Hehe. After placing a deposit on a house I had a terrible feeling that it wasn't the one for me. It didn't include much and would cost me more than $30,000 after handover to make it complete.. not ideal. I had a look at EVERY builders floor plans and decided my favourites. When I came across PD's website I looked at the Lisbon and anything after that didn't seem right. Long story short, We (my partner James and I) placed a deposit on the Lisbon 22 around 2 weeks ago and are pretty much just waiting for the land to settle (Mid April they tell me). I have attached my floor plan below and I haven't changed much structurally except adding a door from the garage and a door to the ensuite. By the way, we just love your theatre room and WIP, we could not fit all that in our plan, really envious cheers jimnsal Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Waiting! 3Mar 28, 2010 12:31 pm Yeah, I love the pantry too I loved the plan because of the entertaining areas towards the back of the area away from the bedrooms so you can keep an eye on people from the central kitchen Thanks for your support Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Waiting! 4Mar 30, 2010 5:06 pm Ok, I have preliminary colour schemes but they wont change too much, the only thing I am not sure of is the carpet colour and style and the tiles.. I know a rough idea of what I want but not a definite name and style.
I would just like to note these pictures are made from Metricons Envisage http://www.studiom.com.au/envisage If this is breaching copyright rules mods- please take them down and I will find another way to show my colours.. All these picture are pretty much like my intended layout and some colours are slightly different because of different suppliers eg. Paint for M* is Dulux but PD use Wattyl. I hope this is ok to post these pictures.. Thats why no one is saying anything .. Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Colour Choices 6Mar 31, 2010 9:52 am Hey Victoria Your colours are certainly not boring, in fact, they are very similar with our tones. Our Garage door is also Jasper I think they look great, we thought about the red splashback but decided it would be too bold for us, but I personally think it will look great. Be careful with these pictures though, you might be breaching copyright especially if you are not building with them. cheers jim Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Colour Choices 7Mar 31, 2010 9:56 am Hey Vic, Loving the colours and love your plans!!! What is your lot number again?! I think you are our back or side neighbour!!! How exciting! Looking forward to following your build... if we ever get our land hey!! Hehe I read that as "I think you are our backside" Nice. I am 1559 on the corner across from the big park! Have you had soil test done or anything? I'm scared they will have to wait for that and then I wont be able to sign my contract before June 30th! Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Colour Choices 10Mar 31, 2010 10:56 am LOL ooops... I see that it kinda does look like that!!! Ahh we are the first lot on Blackforest Rd so I think we just miss out on being neighbours!! No - no soil tests or anything as yet! Hopefully... fingers crossed that they will be ready by then. But I haven't heard a thing in relation to the land for a long time!!! Last I heard it was to be ready Early March... well tomorrow is April and still nothing Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Colour Choices 11Mar 31, 2010 11:10 am Hey Victoria, I really like your colour selections, it'll all work well together imho. It looks as though PD have changed their plans of the lisbon 22. There never used to be the study in those plans. Although I must admit, these are much better than the old plans . Did you get the added alfresco out the back? Will be good to watch your build! ---------------------------------------- Building the PD Lisbon 24 http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/lisbon/24 Blog of our progress. http://lisbon24.blogspot.com/ Homeone build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28665 Re: V&J's Lisbon 22 - Colour Choices 12Mar 31, 2010 12:16 pm Hey TimmyDunlop, The Lisbon21 Hasn't got the Study, I wanted it for a massive wall to wall bookcase! I will probably go around to the block on Friday.. it's becoming a weekly ritual Have you been to the Aldi and Woolworths there yet? It's a quaint little setup And so quiet! I have started doing my regular shopping there! Because it is so quiet there you can always find a park, a trolley, never queue at the registers AND the added bonus is there is always so much stuff on discount!!! We're the same - we are ok with the wait.. we're not starting our build until August but I just know August will be around the corner so soon and I'm starting to worry a little bit!!! Yeah Friday seems the day for us too - head down there before the weekend!!! We might bump into each other one of these days!
