Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Delays with Scott ParK Homes 61Jun 01, 2011 1:00 am We are also building with SPH. Very frustrating, I am in the building industry myself & I know how slow work is at the momment. You would think that with the amount of tradies needing work, that the house would go up alot faster. We had waited nearly 6 months prior to the slab went down, & now the brickies are mucking around. With the rain around the corner, well, we've got a weeks worth this week, you would think that they would try & get as much done while the sun is shining. I spoke to the brickies, even they are frustrated that they had to wait at home for 2 weeks because SPH would not alter their scheduling! We we're giving a vrbal garuantee from our sales rep that we would be in the house by sept-oct. At this rate, it looks like we would be lucky to be in there by christmas! The red tape in this business is unbelievable, so much paperwork prior to slab down, how can you possibly pick your tiles for your bathroom when there is even one to look at! By the stage that they would be ready to lay down, the tiles would have been made redundant. You don't even have one contact person to deal with, always getting handballed to someone else. I can't wait for it to be over & done with, next time, I will take time of work & owner build! In fairness nobody gave a crap about the ACCC and the gag clauses continued in the pro forma templates of a few other builders after the ACCC took on Wisdom, and more… 20 57686 I have a tool that i have created that does this. Message me with your details and I will send it to you. 5 21677 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 65247 |
