In my instance they did not find a better quote. Even before the $10,000+ fee they wanted if they did find a better quote. I also found the quality of the quotes from them lacking a lot of detail and hence integrity. They were very slow at getting the quotes and slow at returning my phone calls. I would encourage you to read the forum, talk to people, find out what a good per meter price is for a home and find a builder via a good recomendation and work with them to achieve a home to match your budget. This will avoid you having to pay a broker fee. This was just my individual experience other brokers may have a better quality of service and a better relationhip with builders.
