Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 18, 2010 3:49 pm The plans for our place have just been lodged with NCC yesterday, and the builder's head office have advised us it's about an 8 - 12 week turnaround, but we were initially told around 4 - 6 weeks. So has anyone submitted plans to NCC lately? How long did it take for you to get your approval? The plans have already been with the private certifier for 2 weeks so I am hoping the 8 - 12 week estimate is just being overly cautious and giving us the 'just in case everything goes pear shaped' timeframe... I hope... Nic. Hopefully this will be the case with yours and we were also told NCC is quicker with their approvals Re: Anyone submitted plans to Newcastle City Council lately? 3Mar 18, 2010 4:29 pm Hi Nic, Why not give the council a call & ask what their turn around time is & get a direct answer from them? This might just bring your file up to the top of the pile & get processed quicker!!!! I'm over in WA & did this with our council, first response was 8 - 12 weeks & then i callled back a second time 2 weeks later to be told they were posted out that day!!!! A little pressure, with a pleasant attitude, may help things move faster.
