Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 31, 2011 9:58 am Hi Everyone My fiancee and I have a block of land located in Sydney western suburbs. We have looked at a variety of homes and seeing that it is our first home and in the process of planning our wedding our price range for our home is a bit on the low side. We have decided to go with Allworth Homes Concerto plan. I have recently paid a deposit of $500 for a tender and paid $2,500 to get our plans drawn up and hopefully sent to the council in 6 weeks time. I have done some research and I have discovered that the majority of Allworth buyers paid $500 for the tender and only paid $2,000 for the plans? Not sure if this is a new rule or if I'm getting ripped off? $500 may not seem that big of a deal seeing that a house is worth a lot more. I'm just not sure why we are getting treated different? Kind Regards LednCoise Re: Building/Owning my first home with Allworth Homes 2Mar 31, 2011 10:15 am Costs usually go up every year. If they raise their fees there is nothing you can do but ask for a discount Re: Building/Owning my first home with Allworth Homes 3Mar 31, 2011 10:28 am chrisandkate Costs usually go up every year. If they raise their fees there is nothing you can do but ask for a discount That's true if they did decide to raise their deposit. I will gladly pay that. However on the tender it claims that I need to pay a deposit of $2,500 to get the plans. Shouldn't the $500 deposit I paid to get the tender cover a portion of the $2,500? I know I should just call Allworth to clear things up, but I just want to be sure I have done a fair amount of research before I call them. I don't want to add any negativity with the whole process. Re: Building/Owning my first home with Allworth Homes 5Mar 31, 2011 3:31 pm langeo I build with Allworth homes and had to pay $3500 desposit for the plan and contour survey etc... Did you go with Allworth Homes Kellyville? If so how did you go? did everything run smoothly? any pros or cons? Re: Building/Owning my first home with Allworth Homes 6Mar 31, 2011 3:44 pm Yeah we went to the Kellyville office. My experience with Allworth so far is pretty good except our lender stuff us around with the paperworks which caused the delay for the start of construction by more than 1 month. We are currently in construction (frame stage) and all I can say is so far so good. If you don't mind me asking where about are you building? I think your location will also determine the deposit price, due to council fees etc.. Cant give recommendations in general with that builder, but during the colour selection, this is honestly personal preference. Depends on the style you want. Do you want… 1 656 So it seems like they just take on a lot of projects to get the cashflow for their own builds. COULDN'T AGREE MORE 14 45725 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week!
