Looking good, Wizard! Geez, if I'd known upgrading to stone in the bathrooms was so cheap, I'd have done it too.
I think you must have had the same brickies we did. Huge variation in expansion joints, window sills very poorly done, really messy mortar, overall crappy brickwork. We pointed out a few bits we weren't happy with and our SS got the construction manager out to inspect - and they decided to rip out all window sills, the entire alfresco room and a couple of other sections and have them redone. That was way more than we asked for.
Only thing was, we insisted that they NOT use the same brickies. I know that they generally expect tradies to rectify their own work, and fair enough too.... but we'd had a gutfull by this stage, and I think they were afraid to upset my husband any further (he can be a bit... um ...scary when he's angry ). So they agreed and got a new guy in to do the work, who did a brilliant job.
Fingers crossed your rectification work turns out well for you. The bricks look lovely, BTW.
