Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Still disappointed 681Feb 10, 2011 1:37 pm We finally got someone out to patch it today, but my GF rang me to say it looks really bad, I will post photos tomorrow. We have rang the supplier and said we want it replaced. I think they are fine with that and it will hopefully get done very soon. Stay tuned though Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Still disappointed 683Feb 11, 2011 12:47 pm So here is what the roller door supplier call a patch that they are “confident we won’t see” http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy252/w-i-z-a-r-d/100_6920.jpg http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy252/w-i-z-a-r-d/100_6921.jpg When the guy arrived at the house yesterday, the GF told the guy to call her when he was done so she could see what it looked like, he left without getting her, , I wonder why. So we have already complained to the supplier and told them we want it replaced, so now we will wait and see what happens, I think at least one phone call a day should be enough to give them the idea we want it done ASAP Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Still disappointed 684Feb 11, 2011 12:57 pm Confident you won't see but won't guarantee you won't see which is what you paid for... Don't say where it is, but see if they can detect it. Could be one of those things that you'll notice because you know it's there. ... but by all means, if you can get a free door, get the free door lol Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Still disappointed 687Feb 11, 2011 2:24 pm Honestly Twiggy, whether they can see it or not is not the point, I see your point and if were a defect on something else, I would do that, but I paid a butt load of money for this door, I will not accept anything less than perfect Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Still disappointed 688Feb 13, 2011 10:28 am Absolutely wiz. We also had someone come out and clean our bricks after the builder next door covered them in concrete and mortar. They cleaned some of the mortar off but left all the concrete. I am just about to make yet another phone call to them to get them to clean it all again. In related news, we have our 3 month inspection on March 4, should be interesting considering we still have outstanding issues from PCI. Anyone know what happens in this case? We had the same issues on PCI, handover, 3 month, 9 month (we got an extra one due to nothing having been done) and now they will be on our 12 month. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. How did your 3 month inspection go? Did you bring your outstanding issues to the attention of your Site Supervisor? I hope everything gets sorted for you. Just a quick update on the roller door, they finally got it right, third time lucky. As for our 3 month inspection, the inspection itself went without a hitch, the guy that came out listed everything that we wanted fixed and agreed that it would be done. We had a few guys out yesterday to start going through the list, about half the list has been completed. So now all the small stuff is done and we are left with the bigger stuff. The only problem is we have no idea when someone will be back out to do this stuff. The next step for us is to contact PD and find out if anything is booked in, I am going to wait until next week though because I want the stuff that was fixed to settle for a few days to see if they re-emerge. So far it looks like one particular fix still has not been done properly, will keep you all posted though. I am still getting around to posting photos, the past couple of months have been crazy. Since the GF and I have been together, once or twice a year, we seem to go through these rough patches where elements of our lives seem to get thrown up in the air and it becomes a fight to get back on track. Nothing to do with our relationship, just little stuff, but it always snow balls and one issue turns into two, which turns into three, and so on. It just gets frustrating sometimes because we end up spending so much time, and usually, money, on getting out of the rut that everything else suffers. This current situation has meant that all the time and money that should have been devoted to the house has been used up. I think we are coming out of the current ‘cycle’ and we are hoping that we can get back on track very soon. We had planned to start our landscaping and a few alterations inside the house, now however, it has all been put on hold until we can save up the funds again. Well, at least we can’t say our lives are boring, lucky I love a challenge or I think I may have thrown the towel in a few years ago. I just take it all as a learning experience and move on, the longer I spend dwelling on it the longer it takes to get out of the situation. The only other major staff member is off at the moment, has been for some time (I can’t say why), but because they are off, I am left to pick up their pieces, if this person had that attitude, there wouldn’t be any issue. Re: Wizards castle - PD Francis 29 – Half a step forward 699Apr 01, 2011 9:58 am Hi there Wizard. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through a rough patch. When I read your post I sat here thinking... WOW is this guy documenting our life!!! It seems that we are in exactly the same boat as you guys at the moment... our life seems to cycle through patches that are sometimes a bit tough and straining and then all of a sudden we will see the light at the end of the tunnel for a few months... so please know that you're not the only one that has these patches! We're sitting tight to complete our landscaping too - cannot wait to get rid of the dirt and dust (well some of it hey!) and start enjoying our yard!
