We have heard varying reports about them and not so many of them good ones! Thanks will check out the links. Re: Anyone built/building with Rural Building Company in Per 4Apr 07, 2010 12:08 am Hi Wheeza77, I've been off the forum for a few weeks and just got back on tonight - so much to catch up on! I saw your thread and how you had looked at us and heard some bad stories - as said above, best bet would probably be to do a search around the forum, google the rural building company and ask around to get a good idea of what we are about. Sorry - my name is Jay by the way and i work for RBC. if you have any questions regarding building with us, please do not hesitate to contact me. i am more than happy to ask any questions you may have. i'm also happy to show you some of our building sites so you can see what the finished and under construction product looks like rather than a display home. For what it's worth, we've definitely had some horror stories along the way (what builder hasn't!), and a few years ago i am sad to say we had some homes we built that didn't go well at all. We have come a long way since then, and i like to think that despite some hiccups along the way, the majority of people we have built for are very happy with us. I work by the code that every builder will make a mistake from time to time, but it's what the builder does next that makes the difference. At the end of the day, i live and breathe housing - i just want to build houses and i love doing it. I have a great bunch of staff and though most people will only meet our consultants initially, we have a great bunch in the office who are passionate about building. If you are looking to build in the hills your supervisor would either be Cookie or Rob - both awesome guys and i can vouch for their workmanship. Anyway - i better stop before i ramble on to much, but please, if you would like help with anything, i am more than happy to catch up for a chat, meet on your block, in our office - wherever really. If you'd like my contact details please post up here or send me a private message - i've posted my email and mobile before but had a bit of spam come through (lesson learned). Either way - hope all works well - there are some terrific builders in the hills so definitely shop around!! Jay Re: Anyone built/building with Rural Building Company in Per 5Apr 07, 2010 2:01 am Thank you for posting on here. I actually popped into the cape view display home and had a quick look around and chat with the helpful saleperson. I did some more reading online and on here, to find a few 'interesting' views, so thank you for your honesty. Ending up using another builder for the last one. Do you guys have a guaranteed build time? I'm chasing a very basic version of the CV for a corner block, is there an option available or are you strictly 240k+ with all those designs Availability of staff/communication before/during/after the process. Had quite a few issues recently with staff not replying, not calling back, people missing stuff or not having the knowledge to answer all the questions Would like to use RBC in the near future for at least one build, absolutely love the designs. Re: Anyone built/building with Rural Building Company in Per 6Apr 07, 2010 12:01 pm Hi stockt12, I am glad to hear the salesperson you spoke with was helpful in the home - it's actually the Settlers View now, named after the Cape View but is slightly larger in area and we have remodelled the kitchen to be bigger and given the master bedroom a better set out. We can't really guarantee a build time as there are many factors which can affect it, but at the moment our average construction time is 39 weeks. That figure is based on all of our jobs on the ground - so there are homes in there that are straight forward single storeys for around $180k and there's also 2 storey homes around the $800k mark. As you can imagine, it's hard to give an exact figure and depends on the home. Because we mostly build custom designs of varying difficulty, price and size it's hard to pinpoint it. We can do, and have built a basic version of the Cape View. We have a Cape View Heritage which is 181sqm at $239k if that is more in line with what you are chasing. In the Views range of homes the prices start from about $170k up to $300k - i'd suggest maybe coming in and having a better look at our designs and pricing or perhaps even speaking to us about a custom home where we do a design based on your block, preferences and budget. The issues you mention with availability of staff etc - was that through us or the previous builder you used? Our Consultants spend a lot of time with people up front to discuss what you are chasing, and you are able to meet with our Designer and Estimator to discuss your home. If you then choose to build with us, you will meet with our New Homes Administrator who has been with us for over 10 years and is happy to discuss anything and everything with you. Your Supervisor is also made available to you and you are given their mobile, email and fax number in case you have any issues. Our Supervisors are not allowed to have more than 10 jobs at a time to ensure they can spend more time on site and meet with you when required. If you'd like to meet up and discuss your next project i'd be more than happy to, if so send me a PM with your contact details or alternatively i can send you mind. We have met with one of your sales consultants a few weeks back who we were very happy with and have since been doing some research. It would be great if you could meet us on site and discuss a few things with us as you suggested. If you could let me know how to contact you so we can organise a time that would be great Thank you Wheeza77 Hi Renee, Boundaries in NSW are generally shown on Deposited Plans.
