Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 15, 2010 8:10 pm Can anyone advise me on this please?? When our slab went down and the brickwork started there was a portable toilet on site. After a week it was taken away suddenly one Saturday, and never reappeared. I then discovered that the brickies were peeing in my garden, yuk!! so called the building company and they promised to get one. They have, but it's about 4 blocks away from mine!! Today the roofwork started and lo and behold there's pee in my garden again!! Is it law in WA to have a portable toilet on each site or if one company is building on the whole street are they able to share?? Advice please!!!! Thankfully there are always Tim Tams Re: Portable toilet help!!!! 5Mar 15, 2010 9:22 pm I can't believe I just googled this....but anyway, I did! I found a WorkSafe (Victoria) document from 2008 that says... Toilets may be shared between sites if: 1. The sites are under the control of the same builder or there is clear agreement between the builders 2. The toilets are convenient and readily accessible to the workers on each site, and 3. There is at least one toilet per fifteen workers I guess 'readily accessible' and 'convenient' are fairly subjective terms. OH&S requirements probably vary state to state too. Re: Portable toilet help!!!! 6Mar 15, 2010 9:30 pm Trinity 3. There is at least one toilet per fifteen workers damn if all 15 of them had a bad curry for lunch.. that is gunna get messy!! Re: Portable toilet help!!!! 8Mar 16, 2010 12:04 am You think peeing in your garden is bad? The guy who did our plastering pee'd on the float in our pantry nearly everyday he was there doing the plastering. How did I know? Well I could smell it as soon as I walked into the house and peeped into the pantry and nearly fell over - that damp urine smell and it was wet down the wall. When he had plastered the pantry, he then started to pee in our Walk in robe in the master bedroom, he also pee'd in the garage down the wall. I went there late one night with pine-o-cleen and took care of it, and I left the empty pine-o-cleen bottle where he was urinating, hoping he'd get the message. I was close to leaving a message, but thought he may do something worse to the house. The builder said "It's more than likely its someone from another site". Well no it wasnt, because I drove past the house 2-3 times a day in that week and it only started when the plasterer was there, and it stopped the day he left. Re: Portable toilet help!!!! 11Mar 16, 2010 8:25 pm I made a phone call to the builder today and they have told me the site supervisor has spoken to them. When I got home tonight the roofers were still there, so I had a word with them too. I pointed out that the builder should have put toilets near the site and I'm not blaming them, but please don't pee on my garden!! They seemed pretty ok with it and apologised but I hope they don't do something even nastier as revenge!!! Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 6989 Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room. There is a hallway/entry that is never used, so was thinking this could be an option.
