Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 15, 2010 1:21 pm Hi everyone! I'm mobilising the Homeone Emergency Corps for a sudden problem that has popped up: we need to go out to the house tonight and dig a trench under the driveway for a 90mm PVC pipe for reticulation to be threaded through. My question is, how deep should it be buried? I was assuming 30 cm (roughly 1 foot) deep. THANKS! Re: Urgent: how deep for a retic pipe under the driveway? 2Mar 15, 2010 5:33 pm When I did my last house I put it about 30-40cm under-ground so 30cm should be fine. Just make sure that the level you are using as a reference is the level of the driveway; otherwise you might find the pipe a little too close to the surface. As a general rule they put down a sand pad prior to compaction for the paving so its pretty safe they aren't going to hit your pipe. Hope that helps! I’ve also had a DA approved to build a deck. It looks like I can do this… 0 4814 you need to make an application to your local council for this as they are the approval authority for driveways cheers Simeon 1 7097 yep sounds good make the footing bigger to to allow for the pipe in the middle 3 7326 |
