Looking forward to hearing all about it Hi Bek Thanks for the message and no my land is still untitled and will be getting it by end of this month or my first week of April and I have already signed my contract and everything is done colour etc. I have asked them to do some no standard variation and they have approved it but I haven't received the drawings yet as they have to do soild test before making all the final drawings. Yes its a very exiciting time, what plan you are doing and where you are making your home? Have you reviewed Henley ? Some of my firends have seen Henley houses and they say they have done really good job and I am expecting the same. Regards Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 4Mar 15, 2010 10:35 am Hi Harwant, I built with Henley (Wilshire Mk3) last year and had a positive experience. There were a few 'off' moments, but that will (and usually does) happen with every builder regardless of who they are. I had a wonderful Site Supervisor and Administrator looking after me and I believe they did a wonderful job. Yes, there were hiccups pre site start, but that was due to lack of communication from Head Office and getting close to Christmas (2008) and January shut down. My Sales Guy was wonderful and offered some brilliant suggestions and was always willing to answer any questions we had. We never felt rushed. All in all, a positive experience, although the most stressfull thing I've ever done! Please feel free to have a read of my blog with all the details and many photos. It has entries starting from November 2007 up to the present day. Yes, it did take that long!! http://stormygirlscastle.blogspot.com/ Good luck!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! I am about to finish building Regatta 288 which is now Regatta Q1. I am building in Wyndham Waters in Williams Landing, Victorian Western suburb. So far the build is going very well and fast. Job they have done is really good and it all depends on the team with which your build is allocated to, as specially Site Supervisor. As far as plan is concerned, i really like the kitchen, family and Rumpus combination with bit of an angle. I did attached some photos of the house so far and it is in my thread "http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30643 " I am more than happy to help you out anywhere you need throughout. Thanks Sharad Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 6Mar 15, 2010 10:52 am sharad Hi.. I am about to finish building Regatta 288 which is now Regatta Q1. Thanks once again Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 7Mar 15, 2010 10:54 am Stormy Hi Harwant, I built with Henley (Wilshire Mk3) last year and had a positive experience. Yes, it did take that long!! http://stormygirlscastle.blogspot.com/ Good luck!! Thanks Stormy It look like you have demolish the old house before this. But why it took so long from start to finish? Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 8Mar 15, 2010 11:26 am In a nutshell: We first signed in Nov 2007, then husband was made redundant, so we had to shelve everything until he found another job and we could apply for the loan again. Began again in May 08, and did colours, tender and contract by the start of August. Packed up house and moved out in Sept, demolished in October 08. Then it was delay after delay with wrong drawings, stuff ups from Head Office and after believing we would have a slab before Christmas it was finally started in Feb 09 (over 100 days since the land was ready). Handover was in September 09, but I am still chasing up a few loose ends left over from PCI. The zone controller for the heating has finally been installed today but the HDMI cable in the alfresco still hasn't been replaced. Again, busy lives and Christmas got in the way! Overall, the construction phase was pretty quick and they finished a few months ahead of contract time, but it's all the stuff ups pre site start and family dramas that delayed things at the start, and tying up the loose ends now. I can say that you really love your house and its nicely decorated too. Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 10Mar 15, 2010 12:30 pm Hi..Harwant You are welcome to have a look at the house. I am building at lot 5832 Loon Drive, Williams Landing. It's Bradshaw facade with Malt colour Bricks and Green Tea Render Colour. Once you get into that street its about in the middle. Let me know how you go with and i value your feedback. Thanks Sharad Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 11Mar 15, 2010 12:41 pm Hi Harwant, congrats on your decision to build with Henley. Best thing to do is get as many changes done before you sign the contract (of course you dont always realise that you want some changes so early in the process)... but if you can, try and get them done prior to signing to save yourself the variation fees later ($500). We're nearing the end of our build. We're building the Panorama which is no longer in the range. We've had a pretty good run so far, but like Stormy mentioned, we've also have a few 'off' moments, but nothing too serious. We had a great sales rep who helped us from the start, then we had a few admin changes during our tender/contract stage which was really frustrating. Our SS is fantastic, but unfortunately our admin girl is completely useless. The ones we had prior to her were ok, but this one is terrible. Completely unprofessional, terrible at returning emails or answering questions. I think if you establish a good relationship with your admin and SS and keep the lines of communication open during each stage of the build then it makes it all so much easier. Good luck with it all!!! Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 12Mar 15, 2010 1:08 pm Thanks Aaron & Erin for your valuable tips I will keep that in mind. I have a fantastic Admin CSO and she make things working and she have done lots of favor to me and I have done some post contract variation which I have told them before but because of the FHOG they have told me that they will do later and which they did and its all because of my CSO. I am waiting for my land title once done they will do the required things and start constructing. I love Henley as the things they call as standard really impressed. Looking forward to hear more from you and thanks once again. Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 13Mar 15, 2010 1:14 pm sharad Hi..Harwant You are welcome to have a look at the house. We are in Geelong and we are building the Lexington Q2. So far we have had a good experience. Our sales consultant was excellent and will still answer any questions that I have. Our first colour appointment was a bit of a let down but our second one was much better. I love their homes Aaron & Erin We had a great sales rep who helped us from the start, then we had a few admin changes during our tender/contract stage which was really frustrating. Wonder if we have the same admin Although I must admit she has been heaps better this last week or so, touch wood it keeps going Bek I'm back Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 15Mar 15, 2010 1:52 pm harwant I have a fantastic Admin CSO and she make things working and she have done lots of favor to me and I have done some post contract variation which I have told them before but because of the FHOG they have told me that they will do later and which they did and its all because of my CSO. I think you have to learn to be patient throughout this whole process. Will you be visiting your build often once they start? We were visiting ours a few times a week, but now we're down to weekly visits. It can be frustrating to not see much progress over the weeks. We've have a really good run to lock up, everything happening quite quickly. Since our kitchen went in almost 4 weeks ago, not much has happened Our contract time is 9 months, and we're only 5 months into the build, we're way ahead of schedule, but for us seeing the build so close to being finished, it's really frustrating! Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 16Mar 15, 2010 2:30 pm Aaron & Erin You might find that once you go to the construction phase that you're assigned with a new Admin I hope you're assigned with a good one! Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 17Mar 15, 2010 3:23 pm Could you guys tell me what things you are doing yourself and not from Henley? I am doing the following things myself 1. Carpet 2. Tiles 3. Telephone points. 4. Driveway 5. Evaporate cooling Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 18Mar 15, 2010 3:34 pm We got Henley to do the tiles. Everything else on your list we have done/are doing after handover. We have tiles throughout our kitchen/meals/living area and thought it was easy if Henley had to worry about the slab being level rather than us. Its turned out quite well however a week and a half after handover I am still scrubing the tiles to get the excess grout off. So that's something to think about. An outside tiler might do a better job of cleaning up their mess. Re: HENLEY : Building my first Home " Regatta Q1" 19Mar 15, 2010 3:53 pm Ari We got Henley to do the tiles. What plan did you choose from Henley? and what have you done so far and any advice on that? I am doing the following things myself 1. Carpet 2. Tiles 3. Telephone points. 4. Driveway 5. Evaporate cooling 1. All flooring that was not standard (ie tiles to wet areas) we did ourselves post handover. 2. Standard with Henley, no extra areas. 3. Separately at pre wire stage (pre plaster). Included all our network points, HDMI cable to alfresco and 4 phone points (inc alarm) and TV antena. 4. Seperate as need to get front fence sorted first, and driveway/paths made to fit inbetween piers! Yet to come! 5. Through Henley. It may have been a little more expensive, but easier (and less mess/disruptions) during construction while we weren't living there! Also doing water tank post handover. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ...
