Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 13, 2010 7:57 pm Hi We are building in the PD access range. We have had nothing but stuff up after stuff up. We have had a meeting with managers and our SS which so far seems to have gotten us no where. One thing discussed was to keep communications open. Well we have emailed at least twice a week and have been promised numerous phone calls. Our SS and CSC never answer any emails. Our SS does not call back when he says he will. The manager above also doesnt answer our communication attempts. So we are trying to find the person to make a formal complaint to. What is the complaints process with these major builders? If anyone is in the Victorian Access range of PD and can help with phone numbers or email addresses that would be so great! Thanks for listening and helping out Kate Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 2Mar 13, 2010 8:13 pm Hi Kateypink, A couple of options for you: 1. Write a letter outlining all the issues, send it by registered mail to the "legal dept" or you can do an ASIC search and obtain contact details of the directors (costs about $20) and again, send your letters by registered mail to them. 2. You can lodge a complaint with the BACV - or tell your builder thats what you're going to do if they don't respond by a given time frame. http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/CA256EB5000644CE/page/Building+&+Renovation-When+Things+Go+Wrong?OpenDocument&1=40-Building+%26+Renovation~&2=60-When+Things+Go+Wrong~&3=~ Good luck. Thanks Kate It's the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Here is their website; http://www.asic.gov.au Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 5Mar 13, 2010 9:33 pm Hi Kateypink, You can do a ASIC (thanks Hels) company extract search (costs about $20) [we used databrokers.com.au] which will give you the Directors contact details. I think the old paper communication is good for records, but not response. I think standing in front of them and "capturing" their attention is far more effective. AND don't forget to mention if it happens again you WILL BE BACK! seriously for $200K they can pull their finger out can they not! A thankful person is a happy person. I used to think a receptionist at PD must have the easiest job in the world because if someone calls you: A: Put them on hold then hang up B: Tell them you will take a message and then not pass it on or not bother because the call will not be returned anyway C: Simply dont answer the phone at all. It is almost impossible to talk to a person there and when you do they just tell you BS and say they will get back to you then never do. There after sale service is non existant - I don't know why they have a warranty because the complaints never actually go anywhere. I was quite releived when I just gave up and decided to never contact them ever again - any problems I will fix myself - which it seems is exactly how they like it. Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 8Mar 13, 2010 10:58 pm This sad story just highlights that it is totally down to the SS and CS staff members that are handling the build. We always got calls and emails returned, usually within 15 minutes. We were never dodged at all. The SS even highlighted a few things that we might have missed in our contract. As originally stated, aim higher up the tree. I know that the SS has a building manager above him, do you know who that is? Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 11Mar 14, 2010 11:08 am I have had nothing but a good experience with them. The office has always been helpful and have given me plenty of time to discuss things with me. They always call me back promptly. Yes, the contract came up some really odd inclusions that we didn't ask for .. ever. But, it all has been fixed quickly and I have always had excellent contact with them. I am building an access house as well. I believe it is up to the individuals that you are dealing with. PD were the one's who managed to fix up a H**ly home and sorted out the contractual implications of a close friend of mine after they put the slab in the wrong spot and the bathroom pipes in the alfresco (?!??). Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 12Mar 14, 2010 11:27 am Damn .... sorry to hear kateypink .. We are about to start with the access range in vic within the next couple months , so far we have been treated well and sorted out all issues fairly promptly with paper work and plans so far so good i guess , i will keep your post in mind and if i need some contact details ill be sure to ask you , good luck and let us all know how you go with your complaints . PD put our kitchen pipes in our dining room.... must have been how they knew how to fix it!!! Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 14Mar 14, 2010 1:08 pm Thanks everyone for your help. Our SS initials are AR and CSC SP if anyone knows their managers, we have delt with a Paul Mc and Wayne but that gets us no where and we still have so many issues no PCI date but a cert of occ. Go figure Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 15Mar 15, 2010 7:49 am Hello, I just thought I would mention how good it is to hear positive stories about building, I have read many horror stories and it has made me apprehensive about what could happen. I hope I don't get a bad SS or CSA but I will be thinking about the end product and that is what I am aiming for. I have just started the process with PD and would have to say at this point I am happy with their help. If anything the sales administrator asked if I had any questions too many times! But she did remind me to ask questions that I had forgotten about so I didn't mind it. I am looking forward to the process Re: Calling all PD clients in VIC (or any vol builder client 17Mar 15, 2010 6:47 pm Hi, I'm building with PD Prestige and am reasonably happy with the experience. It comes down to the individuals. The site supervisor is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Most of the people I dealt with along the way were great. The customer service officer could improve but I think her workload's fairly large. Given she manages 50 files at any time, I cut her a bit of slack. My only gripe has been with some of the tradies and the quality of their work. But I ask and it get's fixed. The other issue I've had is with the crap Austral bricks...second rate. But that's another story. All I can suggest is you go above the SS to his boss, the Building Manager. Ask the receptionist. And then maybe ask for new SS to be allocated. A question. Im in Queensland and building a new home. We managed to reach practical completion 6 weeks ago but we haven't heard any date for handover yet. Who should we… 0 5805 Thank you so much. This has been very helpful. We definitely wish to settle and get these people out of our life. They are trying to charge us interest on late… 7 14262 It is in lake macquarie area and dimensions are width 14 m and depth 8 m and the slope is 1/5 going down from the road. 1 7088 |
