Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 11, 2010 10:28 pm Not much here about Premier homes, I like the look of the Hawthorn Attic, love the space upstairs There is some posts here about people interested in building with them but nothing about the finish product. Anybody have anything for me? PM if necessary Re: Premier homes, anybody have anything to say? 2Mar 14, 2010 9:49 pm I don't know too much... however my parents were looking at building with them. They saw a house in Tarneit that inspired them to look at their other designs... then went and had a look at a display home in the East so I thought I'd tag along. They fell in love with the house straight away... it was all period style with weatherboard, timber floors, master upstairs in the loft with a little sitting area, alfresco everything. Basically EVERYTHING in the home was an extra, the alfresco was going to cost them $9k to build it under roof line (this is even without the slab) - for them to build in the West it was going to cost $9500 for "Travel Time" and even the weatherboard was an extra, the sitting area in the master was an extra... Mum and Dad walked away then and there. So i guess if you weren't building in the west and you didn't want an Alfresco... you may save yourself $18.5k already!!!! We loved their plan and couldn't find anything similar so we thought that we would go with them. The main thing that I have heard and experienced to date is that they are useless at starting up and getting the contract / drawings and specifications started (totally agree here, have a look at my blog) but the building process is usually good and their quality is excellent. I'll let you know in a few months how the build goes. We have knocked on doors of owners of Premier Homes final products and they seem pretty happy.
