Hi All,
It's my first time building a house and not sure what is the acceptable standard. But our slab looks quite bad compared to others (different builder) in the same estate. There are chip off all around the edges and sand deposit on the slab itself (very messy). But thankfully no cracks on the slab surface.
We told the builder about it and they just brush it off saying that "structurally it is sound - the rough edges means that they might have taken the boards off too early, but this will not be seen once the brickwork has started - what we will be doings is the internal 2c step will be squaring that up because that is internal."
Please see photos below. Do you think it is acceptable or should I get an external inspector?

How a properly done slab should look like - to me (a layman)
I took photos of other slabs in the estate by New Generation Homes.
1) Smooth around the edges and corners
2) nice clean slab free of sand deposit on it
