Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 10, 2010 6:16 pm hi, im new to this forum and the missus and i are building our first home at the moment. We are building with Sterling Homes in SA. We signed the contract with sterling on 5th september 09 and in order for us to receive the fhog the slab had to be in by the 5th march 10. When we had our final signing at sterling homes head office, they said it will def be in (providing they dont hit rocks when trenching and weather is not over 35 degrees on the pouring day) on the 5th of march so we dont have to apply for extension on fhog. so we drove past on the 5th march after work and found it was not poured! it got poured tuesday and now we have to apply to revenue sa for an extension on the fhog. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and have had to apply for extension to revenue sa, due to the slackness of the building company.
