Which stage are you in? Last time we looked Stockland hadn't started on our street. Apparently title should be ready in August, fingers crossed. Has anyone had any difficulties with Simonds? Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 7Mar 10, 2010 9:48 pm Our Leon We are building with Simonds in Basken Drive in Hawkestowe (Stage 5E). Last time we looked Stockland hadn't started on our street. Apparently title should be ready in August, fingers crossed. Hopefully, your block will settle on time. Some releases have been spot-on, others have taken a little longer than expected. Activity on new subdivisions seems to have been stepped up recently though, so maybe. Our Leon Has anyone had any difficulties with Simonds? Um.... do a search of the forums and I think you'll find a bit of info. Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 8Aug 08, 2010 3:07 am hi all, i'm just signed my land contract last month, and i'm in hawkstowe west stage 9. There are not too many big lots left when I come to hawkstowe~~ damn, i should came earlier!! Please tell me I made the right decision to come to hawkstowe I love the environment there and the kangaroos jumping around, totally natural feel. But a little worried about the powerlines also the future railway between Riverdale and Hawkstowe West. My land is just on the middle spot between the powerlines and the future railway, hope that i won't see any of them when the houses around me being built. My land should be titled in Sept, so finger X, please don't delay~Stockland told me that they are pretty good on time. Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 9Sep 21, 2010 2:31 pm Hello future neighbours!!! I'm due to complete settlement on a titled block on Barbers Dr in Hawkstowe East at the end of next month. Then building will hopefully start at the end of the year/beginning of 2011, with Homebuyers Centre (building a modified version of Retreat 25). I can't wait!!! I've had such a good feeling about Hawkstowe ever since my first visit earlier this year and was lucky enough to have the block fall into my lap. I've also got a really good relationship with the rep from Homebuyers already so all the signs look positive. I'd say you'd have your title by now, we noticed houses going up in your street already how exciting!! Our land settlement is today, fingers crossed everything goes to plan! We are hopefully starting building in a couple of weeks with Simonds. Hawkstowe appealed to us also because it wasn't as big as the other estates and the national park border gave it a peaceful feel. Goodluck with the build!! Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 11Oct 21, 2010 7:34 pm Thanks Leon. Yes, the land is already titled and we complete settlement on the 30th of October with Pre-start timetabled for the 5th of November. I went to the site last weekend and the house to the right is built, the house next to that has it's frame up, the block to the left has it's slab laid and a couple of blocks further down there's a two storey house with it's frame up already!!! I can't believe how quick things happen when they start!!! BTW I'm blogging my build at http://k-g-house.blogspot.com/ Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 12Oct 23, 2010 12:18 am tt_chanel I love the environment there and the kangaroos jumping around, totally natural feel. That's the railway that's going to be built in 2005.. no, 2010 .. no 2015.. no, maybe 2050? They were also going to build one up north of Epping but that doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon either. I like Hawkstowe but it's out of our budget range. Make sure you get an independent building inspector to check each stage. It may cost you a thousand bucks or so but it's small change compared to how much your house costs ... Built the PD Heywood 29 - Williams Landing Stage 3 Re: Newcomers building in Hawkstowe South Morang 15Oct 29, 2010 5:59 pm Howdy guys and gals, My wife and I have recently put down a deposit for a block of land on Gledswood Ave., Hawkstowe East (stage 6E). We cannot wait to start building and move into the area. Like you kbla, my wife also had a good feeling about Hawkstowe ever since we first explore the area. Hopefully we will be seeing each other in the area very soon.
