Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Re: Nathan & Lisa's Reno - Water Tank Install. 61Aug 16, 2010 1:55 pm So this fine Monday brought a couple big trucks, one of which has our underground water tank on top of it. It's a pre-cast concrete tank. I think from memory it's a 12k or 15k Ltr one. Not to sure now. Lucky for us there is no chinamen at the bottom of the hole or Aboriginal Burial grounds so all is good. Also, we have the formworkers back boarding up the front terrace for the next slab and also the front steps. The material is called Hanex, it's the same as corian, but cheaper (it also had a nicer colour due to the larger "flecks" that are in it). Here is a bloke cutting some holes in it. There will be three pop up GPO's (power points), clipsal make a thing called a Moduline Soho range of product that you push it and it flips out. It will be the brushed stainless variety. It's freaking huge :/ (did not look that big on the pics in the catalogue) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The hole size required. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here is is cutting the one down the other end. The reason for flush mounted GPO's was that if we were to mount the GPO on the cabinetry we would have to have put a backing piece on the GPO, that would have pushed the GPO out and it would have looked a bit ugly. We wont be able to see a join. If you look close tho you may see some flecks that have been cut in half, but due to their odd size and shape this will be hard to spot. ITs just stunning I saw a similar pop up gpo thing in the haefle catalouge, trying to convince DH we need one on the island bench, so would love to see pics once yours are done! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Re: Nathan & Lisa's Reno - Kitchen Benchtops! 66Aug 24, 2010 1:04 pm Thanks Kyton! tinkster Thats an enormous island bench!! ITs just stunning I saw a similar pop up gpo thing in the haefle catalouge, trying to convince DH we need one on the island bench, so would love to see pics once yours are done! Yes I was tossing up wether or not to get the haefle ones or these (very similar price wise), I only went this way because we should only really ever need one (famous last words!) plug on the island. It's down the far end, away from all other sources of power, and I don't want leads draped all over the place. In other news. Front windows put in (need to be stained). Front door is in. Door to (I don't know what to call it out the back) is in. Terrace suspended slab and formwork front steps were poured on Friday. Tiles are 90% done in the bathrooms and laundry. Water tank plumbed for stormwater. Solid plasterers mostly done for now, just a little bit more render here and there. Cabinetmaker starting on the cupboards for all the bedrooms. Interior plaster mostly done. Re: Nathan & Lisa's Reno - Kitchen Benchtops! 68Aug 24, 2010 1:31 pm OMG, that looks freaking awesome!!! Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. Have we got any lights? No. Have you seen how many online lighting places there are and how many different sort of lights there are? I'm guessing most of you have. Problem is, Lis is bedridden at the moment. She is 12 weeks pregnant with our second. I am going a little bit loopy yes, trying to balance work, 2 year old son, choosing freaking lights, carpet and other bits and pieces. Slowly going mental. This one here: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It has a very interesting sort of "shade" it's like an aero bar without the exterior, or like coral if you wish. Close up: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The underside is open to allow more light out. Problem is: $1400.00 So we decided we like the look but not the cost, we found a light that was kind of like it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ $140.00 I think we get that one, if we don't like it we can always change it later. I also like this one: It's from a company called Eglo.
