Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 08, 2010 10:12 pm Hi all!! Chasing some advise/help/guidance/reassurance... anything really!! How much is the average cost for site works??? I have a toally flat, sandy/compacted road level block.. I've already had the compaction levels tested around the retaining walls and they are all in tolerance. My contract quote comes to a grand lump sum total of 10k inc site works, concrete pump, water/sewer/power/phone, engineer detail and requirements for retaining wall and garage hard stand? I'll be asking for a breakdown of the items however it still seems very excessive. Ta muchly as always! L Re: Site Work Costs??? 2Mar 08, 2010 10:24 pm Yes, the initial estimate is around that amount usually 8K - 10K. But you get more accurate figures after the engineers inspection, and given to you during pre-start. I had the same feeling, when i saw my block was even and clear of any vegetation, yet i had 2K for clearing vegetation etc... its actually preparing the site for build. They may charge for things like footpath or crossovers, usually a deposit for the council, until the construction is complete. It is returned, if your construction causes no damage to the footpath etc... Would also be interested to see what other peoples experience with site costs. Which area are you building ? Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13104 Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15954 Henley should give you some indication of site costs.
