Due to the long winded processes and the council work involved we could not sign on the final tender on time and it has now expired (27th Feb).
Now there are 2 things :-
- 1)On Friday (5th March) our builder suddenly called up and informed that the bricks which we have chosen are no longer part of standard range (our plan is already DA approved !!) and we will have to pay 2000 $ if we want to stick with the same bricks.
- 2)We have heard that the builders can charge heavy penalty in case tender expired before signing (sometimes as heavily as 10K).
We are now worried that even if we pay up for the bricks ($2000) they can still turn around and say hey your tender has expired and you need to pay 10 K more.
Does anyone have any experience on this !? What do we do now ??
