I'm now in our shiny new house, and aside from a few minor issues with plumbing & clothing rails falling down, everything is fine and dandy For the first couple of weeks in the house we had no internet, and then for the past week, I've been helping my mother re-paint her entire house - which is coming along really well. Anyway, I'm now off to catch up on your builds Cheers, Rosemi Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: Building with Celebration Homes :: PCI Done & Dusted :: 551Oct 03, 2010 10:57 am Glad hear everything has gone realy well in your NEW HOUSE, so I gather you have settled in well, bit of a bummer having to go and paint your mums place but these things have to be done (worst luck) Have you painted any of your place yet or have you not had time??? Come back and let us know what is or has been done My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM :: Home Sweet Home :: 552Oct 23, 2010 9:40 pm Hi Camy, not exactly 'settled' as I've been spending the majority of the last couple of weeks at my mother's house doing the renos & tidying up the gardens preparing it for renting out again. To answer your question, we had our house painted by the builder, which I'm relieved about as I didn't fancy painting 2 houses!! We've had a few issues with our house, the clothing rail supports for my wardrobe came out and the builder is blaming it on us putting too much weight on it. I beg to differ... they've screwed the clothing rail supports into the underside of the shelves instead of attaching them the walls or the shelf frames. The other day DP just lightly tugged on the supports in another wardrobe and that one came out too. Also, it took the builder's service people about 2 weeks to respond to my emails about it, and to top it off got my name wrong... twice on the same day!!! Not happy Jan. Other than that, I wish I had more kitchen cupboards. I'm going to have to get someone to build a cupboard over the fridge & possibly one above the freezer in the garage (to put all the plastic containers etc into) either that or I have to get rid of a lot more kitchen stuff. As for our landscaping, well, we've put in our application to council for our retaining wall and are just waiting for them to give us the ok so that we can finally get that done. We've got someone sort-of lined up to do the paving out the back for us at a reasonably good price DP has decided that we'll get the landscapers who are doing the front to put our retic in at the back. The only problem I have with that is that they won't even quote us for the back retic until the front has been landscaped. I don't understand why they can't just set it all up at the back so that it can be connected once the front has been landscaped. Go figure!! If DP hadn't p'd off my dad, he'd be happy enough to help us install the retic, the paving & anything else we want. One plus, I've borrowed my dad's trailer for the past week and have sort-of learnt how to reverse a trailer onto a driveway!! yay! Its not sooooo scary now Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: :: Home Sweet Home :: 553Oct 24, 2010 9:49 pm Wow rosemi, doesn't sound as tho you've had time to scratch yourself with your new home + sorting out the other house as well!!!!! Shame about the rails in robes, hope they're sorted properly asap. Yea not understanding why they can't quote you on the rear yard retic & get it all done together...strange one that one So good to hear from you & get some updates Cooper's Build - Perth NOR viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30525 Prelim- mid Sept 2009, Pre Start 2 Feb, Siteworks- 21 April 2010, Slab- 10 May, Deliveries- all by 26 May Bricking- 28 May - 26 June, Roof complete 5 Aug, Float 28 Aug, Lock up 16 Sept Cabinets 1 Oct, Tiling 22 Oct, PCI 18 Nov, KEYS 3 Dec 2010 MOVED IN 17 DEC 2010 Re: :: Home Sweet Home :: 554Oct 24, 2010 10:49 pm Congrats on keys, reversing trailers , and paint Kitchen cupboards will sort themselves out in time. Thanks Echo - your place is coming along nicely too - flooring looks great & love those booties on your puppy Hey PR! I've missed being on here so its great to finally catch up on the progress of everyone's houses. How are you settling in with yours? Hi Shon, yup, sure does seem like a never ending list at the moment, but things will fall into place once we've got our retaining wall done. As for reversing trailers - I'll leave the teaching to the experts I'm glad I don't have to do it again any time soon Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: :: Home Sweet Home :: 558Oct 27, 2010 11:00 pm Have you had any news on your wall from the council yet rosemi glad to hear you have got your rail sort, tradies dont you love them hhhhum My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: :: Home Sweet Home :: 559Nov 03, 2010 9:18 pm Hi Camy yes we've heard from the Council, and apparently we've got the OK for the wall. yay. can't do anything until we receive the letter though. Does anyone wanna buy a brand new house? Cos I might end up in prison for killing DP one day soon - especially if he keeps nagging me the way he does. The issue? Preventing the floor tiles from getting dirty. Whats the deal? I'm not allowed to wear shoes in the house; if I get dirty feet I'm not allowed to walk barefoot on the tiles; and I'm not allowed to put slippers on if I've got dirty feet. So can someone tell me just what the heck am I do??? Cut my feet off? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggh!!!! WHY oh WHY did I get into this venture with him??? I should have run for the hills while I still had the chance.
