We have been given a handover date of the 7th June I can honestly say to you that we have been extremly happy with AVJ we have "NOT" had any problems what so ever with our build. Our SS is the best . We did have 1 hicup with the tilers putting in the wrong grout for the main floor area but as soon as SS new about it he was on it straight away and the next day they were redoing it, I must add it was not AVJ fault it was the tiling companies doing. So I hope you all have a trouble free build just as we have had Goodluck to you all S Purchased land:08/08 Tender signed : 07/09 Approval from bank: 07/05/09 Contracts signed -09/09 House plan:Willowbrook 290 AVJ http://steevie-lee.blogspot.com Re: Any one building an AV Jennings house 16Jun 08, 2010 5:38 pm Thanks so much for the positive feedback steffndaz. good to hear that things have gone so smoothly!! At least the tiling was picked up on and rectified so quickly... our plans are now out of council and we are waiting on our certificate of construction. hopefully in a couple of weeks we will be all ok to go. how long was your build Steffndaz? I am getting a little excited to be starting!! I had to re read all my plans and selections to refresh it has been soooo long!! good luck and keep us updated! KT Re: Any one building an AV Jennings house 17Jun 08, 2010 8:13 pm Hi All, I wish we could say that we have had a positive experience with AV J, but I can't.... Everything was going well, until we had to start dealing with head office... I found that all I was doing was chasing, chasing, chasing... you would call to speak to someone and they would be 'out to lunch' or 'in a meeting' so you would leave a message and not hear back. We started dealing with head office last year in November, and since this time, we have had 5 'customer service' reps - due to resignations... We were even told by one of these reps about 2 weeks before Christmas, that if we got a document to them (which we got to them first thing the next morning) that our slab would be poured before Christmas...I was then told by someone else the following morning as our usual person wasn't there, "Oh, I don't know why you were told that, you have always been down for a January start..." When we finally got the letter to state that our construction had started - they had the wrong date down, so I called our rep to advise her of of the actual start date...I told her how disappointing this whole process has been and she then went on to explain to me how hard her job was... We were also told the whole way through that it would be a 6 month build for a single storey house - but when we got our contract it turns out they are giving themselves a good 10 months to get the house finished! Our house finally began in January, and we were locked out a couple of weeks ago. Our site supervisor resigned a few weeks ago and we have just had a new one assigned to us 2 weeks, and our house has sat there for 2 weeks with nothing at all happening to it! The work so far has been great, I'm not knocking that at all...it's just that they have no idea how to treat their customers!!! We too had a lot of people running us around at the beginning and a very annoying sales rep promising stuff that was not delivered. We persevered because i loved the house plan. I really hope we dont regret it. We have been assigned a customer service rep who so far has been ok. mind you our plans are just out of council so we are just beginning... good luck with the rest of your build and i hope this experience doesnt put a dampener on the excitement of building your new home!! KT Re: Any one building an AV Jennings house 19Jun 10, 2010 11:47 am We are also building with AV Jennings - the roof tiles are going on today, and the brickwork is about 15% complete.. I am curious as to how long people have been told their completed build will take? I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
